I think I was misunderstood when I posted this in another forum. I think it is important for our dissenting opinion to be heard...just not watching FOX news doesn't help the problem of their bias reporting.
I would like to see if the members of DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND would start a campaign of e-mailing FOX NEWS at least once a day with our positions on issues. Since they claim to be fair and balanced, they wouldn't be able to ignore us! I think they get away with their bias agenda simply because most of the people sending feedback to FOX are of like mind. I think if we could somehow organize by having a single issue each day that we all e-mail to FOX, maybe our positions would get more national attention. And, it would be getting the attention of the people we need to influence...rather then to people who already share or views.
Let's face it.....we only have a little more time to make a real difference in this election. If we commit to something as simple as a coordinated e-mail a day....the ripple-effect could be very significant. Other organizations (such as MOVEON) have taken this concept and been successful in e-mailing government officials....so I thought..."Why couldn't it work for the media too?"
Let me know what you think? The following is an example of a letter I sent a few days ago....of course it didn't get any attention since I was a lone responder.
This is a copy of a quick e-mail I sent to Bill O'Reilly at <

Mr. O'Reilly,
Are you really NO SPIN???? The media is continuing their "flip-flop" assault on Kerry....isn't that a SPIN? Couldn't you just as easily call a flip-flop a change of opinion based on new information? Isn't it more presidential to re-evaluate decisions when appropriate, then to "stay the course" just to save face?
I also feel that using the phrase "flip-flop" in supposedly responsible news journalism, is a little insulting to the viewing public. Maybe you should ask your viewers by doing an on-line poll.
Thank you,
Catherine
HEY DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND....WHAT DO YOU THINK? COULD WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH THIS TYPE OF MEDIA CAMPAIGN????? Could we get enough people interested in something like this?????
