Mail out this URL (as described below) WIDELY if you DON'T want Hillary as VP nominee ...
The thread that got 770 recommendations (including mine) of people OPPOSED to having HRC as Obama's running mate, is a valuable piece of information in and of itself, and can be USED by interested DUers to help pursue the goals of those recommenders in at least a minimally effective way.

Here is the URL, just in case you might find it useful. Copy it and use it, people:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=6061693&mesg_id=6061693

Three kinds of distributions make sense to me:

(1) To the Obama campaign. On their website, you can send an internal "email" to a 'comment or suggestion' category. If the guy or gal going thru those emails receives literally DOZENS of these, they are sure to at least pass on the URL to higher level staffers and Obama

(2) Other Web sites: describing what is on the URL, and your case against HRC for VP, accompanied by the URL itself, on websites where Democrats frequent (eg reader blogs at TPM Cafe, posting on DailyKos, Huffington Post, and a slew of other places) will get the message out and perhaps inspire copycat measures, including sending THOSE in to Obama, and following strategy (3)

(3) Emailing the URL and explanation, etc, to glitterati, especially if you have at least a minimal level of connexion to them that they read your emails. I sent it to Tom Hayden, for example, in an EXCHANGE of emails. The thing to urge these glitterati to do is to put together one of those full-page ads in the New York Times and possibly other places insisting that Obama NOT run on a ticket with HRC, and possibly setting criteria, such as someone who NEVER supported the Iraq War Resolution (IWR). I strongly think that the nominee, though not Hillary, should be a woman -- a woman who is first rate in terms of a potential president AND who will maximally boost the ticket, on balance, electorally. This sentiment should directly challenge the sexism meme that many people put out, which is really a red herring.

2. Is the logic that Pelosi would want Boxer on the ticket so she could run for senate?
I don't think Pelosi would likely get the statewide Democratic nomination even then. That's assuming Obama wins, and then Boxer vacates the seat. First the Governator would appoint a successor, most likely a Repug (which is a price for having Boxer as VP and helping elect Obama instead of McCain), and then the Democrats would compete in 2010 (unless CA has different rules) for the nomination. In that case, I think Mayor V of LA, and several other Democrats, stand a better chance of the nomination than Pelosi. She is not REMOTELY as charismatic and popular as Barbara Boxer.

4. This has SQUAT to do with Pelosi. The question is: WHO WILL MAXIMIZE OBAMA'S CHANCES OF VICTORY?
