Why Is The Media Giving The Vietnam Vets AGAINST Kerry SO MUCH Airtime???

They've been on all the cable news networks every night this week, why are these purely political LIARS getting so much airtime???

I mean honestly, at some point the media just has to say, you know what, it isn't partisan for us to call these people LIARS and NOT allow them on our show because the FACTS clearly show that that's what they are! People who NEVER knew Kerry saying he's the liar, it's disgusting.

The media is clearly against Kerry, so they give these men their time to smear him, unbidden. The prevailing party line is that these veterans aren't being allowed to be heard. Of course they've been heard! I respect their service (as all of of us should), but many of us find it troubling that if their account is true, then a whole lot of people are being called liars (including the U.S. Navy.)

TV "news". These stories are a kind of infectious disease. These guys would never have had a national forum in the past with credible journalists. They'd be relegated to the wacko newsletters. But not on network television; they'd be fact-checked out of airtime. Now, there is no fact-checking. There is no dignity or standards. If you say it, we'll run with it. Who cares if you're just a paid whore making up stories. My 21-hr. old son and daughter (right, they're twins) don't watch TV news. If they read the news at all, they're reading online. And they watch The Daily Show. Neither could name who Judy Woodruff, Aaron Brown, Tom Brokaw, or Brit Hume work for...but they do know who Lewis Black and Steven Colbert are. That's the reality of younger people. Who knows? Maybe they're smarter than we are. I'm not getting much news from the networks. Just gossip recycled from Matt Drudge.

15. Tell Me About It

I'm surfing last night at 11:00 and it seemed like the entire dial was running bash John Kerry shows. Half of those about the damn Swift boat. I'm thinking, OK, maybe he brought it on himself by making such a big deal about his Vietnam experience, which I do think the campaign needs to stop talking about quite as much. But then I'm thinking, How many times did we hear that Bob Dole was a WWII vet, and how many shows did we see about how bogus his service supposedly was? Zero, to my knowledge, although I'm not much of a TV watcher, so I could have missed one or two.

It's disgusting, especially coming from a bunch of college boys who never set a toe in a war zone.
