From Capitol Hill Blue

CHB Investigates. . .
Slur-Slinging Anti-Kerry Author's Rants Welcomed on Right-Wing Bulletin Board
By WILLIAM D. McTAVISH
Capitol Hill Blue Staff Writer
Aug 10, 2004, 23:50

Jerome Corsi, co-author of the anti-Kerry book that is drawing fire for its inaccuracies, claims his homophobic, anti-Catholic, anti-Muslim and anti-Semetic comments on the right-wing FreeRepublic bulletin board were jokes but a close review of his long history of nastiness on the board reveal a pattern of hate, intolerance and bigotry.

“I considered them a joke,” Corsi told the Associated Press after he was questioned about the comments Tuesday. “I don’t stand by any of these comments and I apologize if they offended anybody.”

An avalanche of email received Tuesday after Capitol Hill Blue, with the help of Media Matters for America, cataloged an extensive list of Corsi’s anti-religious slurs, homophobic insults and right-wing attacks, showed many people did not find Corsi humorous.

And an even closer review of Corsi’s postings since 2001 on FreeRepublic reveal his comments could not, by the wildest stretch of imagination, be considered jokes but were – in fact – consistent with the often homophobic, bigoted, hate-filled right-wing extremism of the bulletin boar

This thread got locked because it's not LBN. It's too good to lose so I posted it here.

There's nothing like the truth to sink a fascist stooge. That's why they fear things like, oh, the Freedom of Information Act and free people.

8. If the general public sees the Freep it will not be good for the Repubs
I know I know even on DU we have people that post some wild crazy s**t but if you disagree you tell them so and the discussion starts from there-on the Freep it seems to be goose stepping lemmings and nothing else. How can everyone be of the like mind AND be so wrong...consistently?

I actually heard Hannity talking about the Free Republic on his show once, he was complaining that it had degraded from the "thoughtful incisive discussions that it once was known for" (something like that) :eyes:

Let's not forget that the Freepers actually got airtime on C-Span for a rally once. B-1 Bob Dornan spoke. I remember it because it was the dead of winter I wanted to see the crowd that showed up-when the camera panned around there were about 20-25 people there-I actually did a spit take it was pathetic.

12. Catholic DUers should make this known at their Parishes:
Right-wing fundie nuts like Jerome Corsi are closer to the KKK than they are real Republicans like Abraham Lincoln, Dwight David Eisenhower, ex-Gov. Bill Milliken of Michigan and ex-Rep. Pete McCloskey of California.

Wake up the Congregation with the truth, DUers. What Corsi wrote:

"So this is what the last days of the Catholic Church are going to look like. Buggering boys undermines the moral base and the laywers rip the gold off the Vatican altars. We may get one more Pope, when this senile one dies, but that's probably about it." (02/16/2002)

16. I love Capital Blue............

A few examples:

“Islam is a peaceful religion as long as the women are beaten, the boys buggered, and the infidels killed.” (11/22/2002)

“Let's see exactly why it isn't the case that Islam is a worthless, dangerous Satanic religion? Where's the proof to the contrary?” (04/24/2004)

“JaneFondaKerry is being heavily funded by Iranians -- check out how Gore was funded by the Chinese in 2000. May not come out until after the election but when it comes to JustForKerry the old rule applies in every aspect of his life – “FOLLOW THE MONEY.” (03/02/2004)

“The Rats better think twice about the bogus charge that the President went "AWOL." Looks like John F*ing Kerry went traitor.” (02/04/2004)

“John Commie-Kerry has voted for decades to dismantle the US military.” (02/01/2004)

“The only way to beat this bitch is to nail her on the issues.” (Talking about Senator Hillary Clinton on 06/08/2003)

“Let the FAT HOG run!!!” (Again about Hillary Clinton on 08/30/2003)

“And now we get Pooh-LEFTY pushed on us by the RATS as Minority Leader in the House -- here come the SanFrancisco liberals -- hope the RATS go back to focusing the debate on gay marriages and other pro-choice topics close to Pelosi's heart.” (Comments on Nancy Pelosi posted 11/18/2002)

(Complete listing of Corsi's posts on FreeRepublic)

A number of FreeRepublic posters defend Corsi’s remarks.

“I still don't see the connection between someone making comments about Muslims and the veracity of typed words spoken by true war heroes,” said "nuffsenuff."

“Jerome R. Corsi is/was an active Freeper who used some questionable terms for Arabs and had some harsh words about Clinton and Kerry. IMHO, they were rather benign, but they were taken out of context in order to keep the character assasination machine alive,” posted “APFel” Tuesday. “Frankly, I don't think he has anything to apologize for.”

“As far as I am concerned he told the truth and has nothing to apologize for,” posted by “sport.”

The Kerry campaign called Corsi's Web chat postings disgusting.

but seriously, this man has said some pretty evil and despicable things and they definitely should not be passed off as "jokes". This book "Unfit for Command" is about as much FACT as a W campaign speech.

19. Meet "Citizens for Honest Fighter Pilots" OMG
Edited on Wed Aug-11-04 04:54 PM by Joanne98
Questions about Bush's military service would likely be history if not for the new attacks on Kerry's war record by the latest Republican hit squad of "Truthful Vets." But, by the way it looks now, we will be comparing the military records of the candidates right up to election day.

Therefore, my newly formed group, "Citizens For Honest Fighter Pilots," hereby calls on Bush to explain his whereabouts and activities for the period of time he was AWOL, and for him to repay the quarter of a million tax dollars wasted on his fighter pilot training.

As a member of "Citizens for Honest Fighter Pilots," I want to remind voters that while Kerry was in Vietnam, doing whatever it was that the "Truthful Vets" imply he was doing over there, Bush was an AWOL, suspended fighter pilot, roaming around somewhere in between Alabama and Texas.

Nobody seems to know which State of the Union Bush was in or what shape he was in. Also, not one of the 700 members at the Alabama unit where he claims he served, remembers serving with him.

20. CHB is a bit late on it
Some guys over at the Bartcop message boards did a little snooping last week:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=2165539

Posted it on Media Matters' blog and Kerry's message board. Even sent a link to Drudge, but he jumped on the story almost a week late.

The rest, as they say, is history.

AP carried it a couple days ago.
