Bush vows to 'bring an enemy to justice' in new ad

LIZ SIDOTI, Associated Press Writer
Wednesday, August 11, 2004

(08-11) 13:39 PDT WASHINGTON (AP) --

President Bush vows in his latest campaign ad to "bring an enemy to justice before they hurt us again" although Osama bin Laden remains at large and only one U.S. defendant, Zacarias Moussaoui, has been charged with crimes related to the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

"I can't imagine the great agony of a mom or a dad having to make the decision about which child to pick up first on September the 11th," Bush says in the 30-second television ad, which started airing Wednesday. "We cannot hesitate, we cannot yield, we must do everything in our power to bring an enemy to justice before they hurt us again."

Meanwhile, the Democratic National Committee launched a radio ad that also mentioned the terror attacks. The radio ad claimed Bush has distorted Democrat John Kerry's record on terrorism, which the ad says is "beneath the office of president." The radio spot responds to one Bush is airing that claims the Democrat is "just like clockwork" on terrorism.

"I can't imagine the great agony of a mom or a dad having to make the decision about which child to pick up first on September the 11th,"

OK, I can be a little slow sometimes, but WTF is that so suppose to mean?

"We cannot hesitate, we cannot yield, we must do everything in our power to bring an enemy to justice before they hurt us again."

Well, you have had three years to do this. Doesn't look like you have the ability to do the job.

:wtf:

4. What's this flip-flop number 7,543?
Osama Bin Laden:
September 13, 2001, Bush: "The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our Number One Priority and we will not rest until we find him."

March 13, 2002, Bush: "I don't know where he is. I have no idea and I really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."

6. Bush is definitely getting hosed by his media company with his ads!
Edited on Wed Aug-11-04 04:55 PM by flpoljunkie
He looks haggard and Laura look at him likes he is one card short of a full deck at one point. It is available on his re-election website, if you can stomach it; my stomach is strong.

I think someone thinks these ads will appear to the "women folk."

And that Bush "jumped in waist deep" with this ad--compared to his first foray exploiting 9-11.

9. Now let me see here,
haven't we heard that line before. I think it goes like this;

Bush on Osama bin Laden, Sept 13, 2001 - "I want justice. And there's an old poster out west, I recall, that says, "Wanted: Dead or Alive."

Bush on Osama, Sept.17,2001 - "the most important thing for us is to find Osama bin Laden."

Bush on Osama, March 13,2002 - "I don't know where he is. You know, I just don't spend that much time on him... I truly am not that concerned about him."

Yeah, I've heard that line before. Now how stupid do they think we are?

10. bush can issue copies of My Pet Goat, so agonized citizens can
emulate his great leadership in handling their decision-making during crises.

12. is this some kind of threat?
Considering the fact that near zero mention has been made of any children dying in WTC, what does this mean?

This is the most naked kind of fearmongering. It's just disgusting.
