Does John Kerry Need a Dog?
I think he will need to get one sooner or later! ESPECIALLY if he's elected president!

its a presidential tradition that they always have pets and ALWAYS a dog, and last i heard kerry only has a pet bird or something.

could help with those swing voters too!

1. He needs a Kerry Blue Terrier...
they are nice dogs - one won the Westminster dog show a couple of years ago -- and the "blue" reflects nicely the fact that Democratic states are coded blue.

I think EVERYONE needs a dog!

21. It Also
stands for "blue blood," which will be the story if Kerry gets such an "elitest" dog. And of course, if he gets an every-dog, he'll be accused of pandering with an innocent pup. I say no dog until at least midway through the first term. Some time after the impeachment.

5. No one should get a dog who is not emotionally committed to caring for it.
Getting a dog is way too serious to be done as a political stunt, imho.

6. He can have Bush's dog - Barney
Bush will drop him at the pound once he is booted out of office. That dog is only a prop to that heartless man

7. Absolutely, but not on the campaign trail.
Dogs are a great companion, and good for the image too, but not on the campaign trail! Dogs aren't happy constantly being a bus or plane, and only appearing in a photo opp with their master. They want companionship, and play time. There's not much of that available on the trail.

I have thought about Kerry & Teresa having a dog, but it's much better to wait until later when they're in the WH.

Look at the criticism shrub gets when you see him with his dog. He's not carrying his best friend, he's doing it for the cameras. Look at the dog and you'll see what I mean.

A German Shepard I think, and some other kind of dog. I don't remember now, wasn't worth remembering to me. But they do have dogs.

14. German Shepherd
and a canary I guess.

"I first met the lady who could be our next first lady nose-to-nose. Flat out on the ground. Teresa Heinz Kerry arrived at my home for lunch, was welcomed by my two Yorkies, and went down on all fours.

"I've had three," came her voice from floor-level. "Rusty and Cous-Cous died of old age. Rusty Two always threw up in cars. The vet couldn't cure him and we travel so much we couldn't keep him. Now we have a German shepherd. I adore dogs."

16. Yes, Kerry needs a dog
but probably best to wait till he becomes President so the dog won't be neglected and lonely while the Kerry's are on the campaign trail.

18. he needs adult dogs and cats
from the shelters only and they have to get along first. And the dog has to be a male and be trained to p--s on Bush's leg. Or other GOP types.

Edited on Wed Aug-11-04 08:30 PM by janx
I'm terribly biased, but IKE was the only president to have a weimie. They're gorgeous, loving, and extremely devoted dogs.
