Counting down electoral votes
From Newsweek, and I cannot find the map on their website.

It has the following chart:

Solid Bush (18 states) 142
Leaning Bush (4 states) 39

Total Bush 181

Solid Kerry (8 states and D.C.) 143
Leaning Kerry (9 states) 90

Total Kerry 233

Toss-up (11 states) 124

Of those "toss-up" (Bush first, Kerry second)

AZ 48/45 10
FL 43/50 27
IA 46/49 7
MN 45/49 10
MO 48/48 11
NV 46/43 5
NH 42/49 4
NC 48/45 15
OH 49/44 20
WV 44/47 5
WI 46/49 10

2. How much larger
does your lead have to be than "seven points" (FLA & NH) to at least be leaning?

4. Take your map
and give Fla. and Mo. to Bush (not out of the question). Keep the rest as they are and see what you get.

Frightening, just frightening.

5. Any tie means Bush wins
We must have a clear majority of the elctoral votes in order to win.

7. No Kidding
Even if the Dem's have a statistical majority in the House, they caucus by state, and we will lose.

Just what this country needs. Kerry wins the popular vote, ties the electoral vote, the Dem's are a majority in the House of Reps, and Bush gets another four years.

Talk about a divided nation.

That's a Doomsday scenario

6. electoral vote predictors

I have yet to see an electoral vote predictor that doesn't have Kerry winning. I'm sure there must be some out there, but they seem to be the minority. Things are looking good! :toast:
