Kerry's DD214 form

At this http://www.johnkerry.com/pdf/jkmilservice/DD214.pdf link is a copy of Senator Kerry's DD214. For those non-military type that is his discharge papers. On Fox there was a swift boat liar for * saying that Kerry got his silver star 14 years after Viet Nam. Well his DD214 dated in 1970 shows the Silver Star with V for combat on it.

But more important IMHO is the line that lists foreign/sea service of One Year and Seven Months

1. 1 year and 7 months

most of Kerry's time was spent in deep/blue water as they call it (on the Gridley) rather than the more dangerous "brownwater" of the river deltas.
Kerry had 4 or 5 months of that, but that's like a lifetime in a battlezone.

They conveniently leave out the fact that it was his SECOND tour of duty, with his first tour being spent on a ship offshore. He REQUESTED his second tour be on a swift boat IN Vietnam at the height of the conflict.

Do the Republicans and their mediawhores really want to take the stand that service on a ship offshore of Vietnam was inconsequential? Would they say the same about those serving on ships today?

I think the Thugs are onto something here. They should shout from
the rooftops that:

a) all our troops in Kuwait, Saudi, UAE, Bahrain, on ships and
subs out in the Gulf are a bunch of girlie men JUST LIKE JOHN
KERRY WAS.

b) everyone who got a Purple Heart/Bronze/Silver Star should be
questioned whether they deserved it until they 'fess up'.

c) anyone in the military who doesn't spend AT LEAST A FULL
CALENDAR YEAR *in combat* is a wuss.

which is a update on medals. All BS type. I believe a lot of ppl in Congress made sure they had all the doc. for any medals shown on any pictures of them, especially after Borda (sp)

I remember very well when this thread was posted, and every DU vet knew exactly where their papers were, while Bush couldn't seem to locate his.
