Democrat Since Birth Demolishes The Latest Republican Meme
Republicans are confidently saying no war president has ever lost a bid for reelection...

They ignore the fact that Harry Truman and Lyndon Baines Johnson chose not to to run for reelection while presiding over unpopular wars...

1. I contend with the assumption that w*'s a 'War President'.

There is no war. It's an invasion.

I reason that 'Invasion Presidents' should be kicked out on their asses.

6. I'll Tell You What....
You can make a decent case that both the Korean War and the Viet Nam War were more justified than this one...

2. Even the RW Richmond Times-Dispatch acknowledges that is false

The U.S. fought five shooting wars during the 20th Century - World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and Desert Storm. The political precedents suggest iffy electoral prospects for George Bush.

In 1990 and 1991 the first George Bush led the international effort to block Saddam Hussein in the Gulf and then to expel him from Kuwait. Parades greeted the troops as they returned from battlefield victories. Bush decisively lost his 1992 re-election bid.

George W. Bush describes himself as a "War President." The record indicates that the designation brings mixed blessings - at best.
