Edited on Thu Aug-12-04 03:09 PM by buycitgo
The establishment of a PERMANENT special counsel.

It's goal: the full time investigation of ALL aspects of the BFEE

from Neil to Marvin

from Western Sugar to Jeb's ties to Manuel Recarey and Orlando Bosch

from poppy and Luis Rodriguez to Ollie North, to BCCI to the Carlyle group to Vinson/Elkins, etal, to the Swift Boat Vets

OK

I can dream, can't I?

2. Sounds like a full employment bill to me
Investigating Republican scandals sure could keep a lot of people employed.

8. We need constitutional reform on this topic ...

I think that the Attorney General should be an elected post. The election would happen in the "off election years, 2002, 2006, 2010, etc..."

That way, the attorney general would ALWAYS be independent of the President. PLUS it would act as a natural check against presidential abuse. A president who was behaving poorly might find himself with a hostile attorney general to investigate his administration. The attorney general would also be responsible for investigating congressional fraud.

The president would retain law enforcement authority on foreign policy issues (interdiction, smuggling, immigration, tariffs, etc...).

And of course, the president's law enforcement arm could investigate the attorney general's office ;-)

One more reform is that the states should be able to appoint an attorney general. Should a certain number of state attorney generals meet and decide one is necessary (say 1/2) and they supply a portion of it's budget (say 1/4) than they can act as an effective check against federal corruption.

9. that'll never happen
what we NEED is to have the special prosecutor re-instituted

look what Starr etal were able to 'accomplish'

and, as usual, the pugs, like they've been able to take grossly hypocritical advantage of the first amendment in the Plame fiasco, benefitted GIGANTICALLY from the dem's idiotic participation in the non-renewal of the special prosecutor statute

just THINK how many there would have been working now, had they not been so fricking short sighted

course, what'll happen is, they'll get it back, and go RIGHT after President Kerry

has a certain ring to it, that, doesn't it?

the President Kerry part

AFAIC, President ABB
