Is there a new CNN Gallup poll out?
The Freepers are squawking about a new poll out showing Bush up 50-47. Supposedly CNN carried it?

2. The Poll Question Must Be "Who Don't You Trust?"

In that poll, Pretzelboy would have a HUGE lead.

4. There's another thread here:
But actually, Bush* was up 51 to 47 in the last Gallup poll, so this one isn't worth squawking about.

6. Don't blame them

7. Yes, Gallup lost all credibility with me in 2000
Looking at that chart brings it all back.

Does anyone really think the race in late September 2000 went from even, to Gore up 10, to Bush up 10, and back to even in the span of a couple weeks?

No other poll that year (or this year, for that matter) showed such huge, short-term fluctuations.

9. Gallop poll question
Edited on Thu Aug-12-04 05:39 PM by Mountainman
If the election were held today, who would you vote for? Senator Kerry or President Bush and all the beer you can drink?

10. It was a "favor-ability" poll

And 50 percent of those polled think Bush is doing a "passable"
job.

Not a Bush V. Kerry question.

And I doubt that 50 percent of the population think Bush is
doing a good job.

But... look at the news since the convention:

1. Terror, Terror, Terror

2. We caught a bunch of terrorists!

3. Kerry agrees with Bush, even knowing what we know now, that
war with Iraq was the right thing.

4. Vietnam Vets say that Kerry was really a coward, and is unfit
to be Commander in Chief, etc, etc.

5. Oh... we are going to get that America hating terrorist
supporter in Iraq.

(so, did I miss any headlines?)

KKKarl is earning his keep. Never mind the debunking of a lot
of this... retractions never stick with people like the
accusations. And Kerry hasn't helped trying to split hairs on
the war in Iraq. Just my humble opinion.
