New Economist Poll: Kerry leads 48% to 44%

In the latest Economist national survey, Sen. John Kerry leads President Bush 48% to 44%. In addition, 57% say they are disatisfied with "the way things are going" and 53% disapprove of how Bush is "handling his job as president."

Florida: Kerry 47%, Bush 41% (Quinnipiac)
Ohio: Kerry 48%, Bush 45% (American Research Group)

State polls are really bad for Bush. Also for the third straight day in the Rasmussen poll, Kerry leads by three.

The problem is, Kerry is ahead in 95% of all the polls taken since the pick of Edwards.

8. With all the bad news for Bush, why can't Kerry make headway against him?
That is what you will hear on CNN along with "people trust Bush to keep them safe."

Nothing about the fact that Kerry leads on this poll.

9. The fact is that about 40% of people will vote for each candidate...
No matter what. It is the result of a polarized electorate. At most, 10% of the electorate is swayable. Can't do much to undo 80% of the electorate right now.
