47. On MSNBC-one of Murdoch's rags printed a story that Microsoft
wanted to withdraw funding for the network--it's been repeated elsewhere but the story began with Murdoch. Take it for what it's worth. My guess is that NBC isn't going to let MSNBC go down without a fight--they'd at most--just rename it and continue on without Microsoft. Wishful thinking on part of Murdoch and his minions.

4. The McGreevey coverage is typical slime--getting into other
people's underpants again. More sensationalism.

It's very tiresome. MSNBC should hear from us about it.

Why on earth do people think that sexual jollies have anything to do with whether or not any person can be an effective leader? I will never understand this.

16. Complete bullshit
An effective and hard-hitting Democratic strategist and spokesperson needs to confront this slimeball with this right-wing water-carrying dating back to Nixon. He was a clerk for Rehnquist. Don't allow him to make claims like "I voted for Gore without making him answer for his past conservative activities.
Don't leave it to Tweety to do it, either, because we all know where that will end up going in the long run. If the pundit shows refuse to have hard-hitting, effective Democratic spokespeople on then the Democrats need to boycott the shows and disavow the milquetoasts that the shows DO have on.

33. Great!
Just sent an e-mail to Journalist Matthews:

Dear Mr. Matthews:

Tonight I watched a true journalist in action. Your skill was impressive. Besides skill, I noticed some emotion during your interview with Mr. O'Neill. Many of us have been feeling this same emotion as we watch this former soldier smear another American patriot without being challenged. I am glad that you finally exposed this republican dirty trickster for what he is. It needed to be done, and you did it. When you get those angry e-mails from right-wingers, just remember that they represent a very small percentage of the American public.

After your impressive performance tonight, I would like to ask you a favor. Would you please devote the same amount of time to the Bush military record? Specifically, I would like to learn more about why he refused a military physical and was grounded. You obviously have the skills to handle such a topic fairly, and it should be covered by a mainstream journalist before the election.

I liked the part where O'Neill said the ship (cant remember the name) wasn't considered to be in combat territory which Tweedy replied that his brother was on that ship and it was in combat territory according to the Navy. This was his fist purple heart not the swift boat one.

34. Boy Do We Need An Edward Murrow!!
Tweety did a surgical job on O'Neill...he was measured on how he went about it (unlike his usual bombastic style) and he didn't do a thorough job.

Surely Tweety's done his homework on this topic and had seen O'Neill's other appearances; each one unmasking him further. He knew about the Colson connection (Lawrence O'Donnell brought that out two nights ago), hinted at his Houston/Repugnican connections, but didn't nail him as the fraud Tweety must surely know he is.

Yes, he can't bend over backwards and sound like Kerry's surrogate, but there was more that he could have asked or probed further and he pulled back. I'm not sure if time got away from him or he's holding all this info back for another reason, but there are still some unanswered question about Mr. O'Neill that beg to be put in the same light O'Neill places Kerry, and by assocation, the U.S. Navy.

We need someone who will finally stand up and do what Murrow did with McCarthy and speak in direct language of what is happening here and how extremely deceptive this "Swiftboat" operation is. This is beyond unethical or a "dirty trick"...this is an attempt to destroy a man's life that will taint him for the rest of his life...win or lose this election...and all based on such biased and pre-determined reasons.

Someone has to bring up the Rehnquist connections (quid pro quo??), the money he's donated to Repugnicans (Kudos to the rapid response here...but we're posting to the choir...why didn't Tweety have that list ready to waive in O'Neill's face???) It only took 30 seconds for someone to pull it up and post it here...it's not that hidden.

Next is to expose this goon Corsi and not let O'Neill weasel out as to his role in the gathering of the "information" and the writing of this slime. Other Texas connections must be exposed as well. The folks at Bartcop found some great stuff about the server the site is hosted on and the many co-incidental relationships...ala Arkansas project, that's going on here.

Yes, for most people, the lie has been spread and Kerry has been damaged. There's not much that can be done now, but to press for the accusers to now stand under the same light at the accused. Tweety failed not only his viewers, he failed himself in not putting the truth ahead of the spin.

46. Masacred Them? Hardly, O'Neill's Still Lying...
O'Neill was lying and Tweety knew it and didn't nail him on it. He spent far more time on the medals and failed to answer the question he, himself kept asking..."what is it you guys are trying to do?"

For those of us who have seen this slander attack become credible, it's not only an outrage, but a very omnious sign for us all if someone can lie indiscriminately without his own credibility put to the same measure he's put others up to.

O'Neill's a paid hit man whose message was programmed and his credibility has easily traced conflicts, yet they're not brought up as much as the lies.

Don't acept the fact Tweety didn't kiss O'Neill's ass like other interview shows as being a masacre...the lies are still being spread and doing damage. The liars are walking unchallenged and emboldened to go for even more.

53. O'Neill's Still Standing...He Needs To Be Shut Up
Once and for all.

When the box is opened wide on this lying asshole, the Vietnam attacks on Kerry will end. While he's shooting off his pie hole this stays an issue that shouldn't have been one in the first place.

In a perfect world, O'Neill's lies would have never made it to print...or the media would have scrutinized this enterprise before it was splashed all over the media. O'Neill has lied non-stop and continues to lie. You can dump a bucket of horse shit and he'll still go on lying. The only way to shut him and his horde is to put them on the defensive and unmask them for the partisan bullies they are.

Tweety asked the question "why do you guys hate Kerry"...and never pressed for the real answer. O'Neill flat out lied about being either an Independent or Democrat, while Tweety could have had at his fingertips the list of O'Neill's political contributions over the past decade that is all Repugnican. Why didn't he do this?

When O'Neill was asked about his association with Corsi the other night (Lawrence O'Donnell...the only man with real cajones to go after O'Neill), O'Neill was flop-sweating a river. Tweety had to have seen that tape (it was on HIS network afterall) and there's a large paper trail on these guys. All that tweety tried to get O'Neill to admit is the guy lived in Houston. No follow up and O'Neill's off with yet another lie to confuse and distort here.

O'Neil's playing a rear guard action to keep the dialogue off this regime's dismal military record and their willingness to send your children to die in wars they directly profit from. Spending hours debunking horseshit takes away precious time and resources from the major selling job we still need to do to ensure this regime is removed next January and the "corner is turned" to returning this nation to some sanity. By letting O'Neill go on and on to distract and distort is to give this regime breathing room just when we're starting to strip away their evil veneer.

Now, wrongly, Kerry's military record and judgement have been unduly slandered and still haven't been properly defended. I'm astounded at the depths the Rove machine went to spread this slime and how it went from a curiosity story to a major controversy. We allow these assholes to continue these tactics (and Tweety knew he was being played when he called O'Neill on the "you haven't really heard the story" bullshit) truth and fairness stand little chance to big money liars who are never held accountable.

Tweety blew it. Who is there to stand down these assholes? Maybe one of the weekend shows? Or maybe Max Cleland and the other brothers will finally break their silence. Or maybe Kerry himself will have to put out this fire (I sure as hell hope it doesn't get to that point)...but the story still has legs. It needs to get squashed.
