A death rattle is a gurgling or rattle-like noise produced shortly before or after death by the accumulation of excessive respiratory secretions in the throat.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_rattleI have heard the death rattle only one time personally, fortunately. But now I am hearing it again, at least figuratively, and it is no more pleasant than the first time. I expect that we will continue to hear it until at least next Wednesday or Thursday when Hillary is at last put to rest as a potential Democratic nominee for President.
As much as Hillary proclaims that she will not go quietly into that good night, the writing is on the wall and the moving finger moves on.
I really take no great joy in it. For much of my political life, at least on the internet, I have vigorously defended the Clintons and all things being weighed carefully, they have probably given us more to celebrate than to mourn.
But I believe it is time to turn to a new page, to a new beginning, to a new chapter in American history.
"You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one" - John Lennon
OK, call me a romantic, call me naive, call me whatever you want, but if I am to have any lasting impact on the future I want it to be doing what I think is right to help us all move to a better place where we all can live together.
In 1968 I saw such a person and he was taken away from us all in a tragedy that touched me forever for I was on his team and was ready to fight all the way for him. I will not let that happen again as long as I have anything to say about it.
When I heard the comments by Hillary last Friday about June of 1968 I wanted to scream and cry and lash out, but now I know what I must do - Fulfill his legacy through Barack Obama. I will take no prisoners to do so.
Imagine!
