Winner of new MoveOn ad contest (all ads by same director)
MoveOn Pac posted ads for members to vote on involving conservatives who are against Bush.

100,000 voters later, they have a winner: a Marine who was in Iraq looking for wmd criticizing Bush.

Clicking the link below will cause the winning ad to immediately play in the Quicktime format.

1. I wish they could show the top three ads as a campaing
I can understand why the military one got most of the votes. But I think it's important to hear from ordinary citizens, too. The three spots give a nice range of thought. What do you say we raise three times the money!

2. I rated that one a 5.
Not just the ad, but the person in it. I thought he was the sort of person who the voter we DON'T have locked up would most like to identify with, only partly because he was a Marine.

3. I thought the one about addressing needs at home instead
of squandering money in Iraq would appeal to swing voters.

4. I wish the first place guy had been someone saying...

clearly that the Bush people said they knew that there were WMD there, rather than saying "we were given these ideas that there were WMD", or "they said they were so sure that they knew where they are".

"They said they were sure" is different than "they said they were so sure". The later sounds like they said they were "sort of sure", not that that they absolutely said that they were sure, after months and months of people screaming at them to back up their claims.

Since it doesn't nail the point that they said they knew where they were, I think it comes off in such a way that the reaction will be, "Pfft. Bush wasn't lying, he was just given bad intelligence".
