I demand that Barack Obama immediately denounce Spike Lee for nearly every movie he's made.
I mean, Spike Lee, an Obama supporter, speaking out directly against white racism... what's that all about? Doesn't he know his place?

It really, really disturbs me that a number of folks here construe criticizing racism as "hate speech". Not only is it a very incorrect and obscene misuse of the term, it also suggests that maybe we're all supposed to protest in nicely worded online petitions nowadays. I dunno. Personally, I prefer folks speak out loud and clearly and in no uncertain terms against it. Call it out - in the public square, to the people, and yes, in the churches.

1. There is a difference between speaking out against racism and mocking
Sen. Clinton as a racist.

3. I'm Italian...Every Dago in a Spike Lee movie is a virulent racist
I demand an apology.

And maybe a cash settlement.

(I kid...I kid...All Italians are virulent racists. It's fine).

36. No. Only the ones who call her a racist.
I know you think calling Sen. Clinton a racist is fun and totally true, but Sen. Obama disagrees and so do I.

I doubt you care what I say, but I would hope you would at least listen to our party's nominee.

34. Yeah, Bamboozled was a bit broad, and hewed a bit to closely to the homage of Network.
That said, there's one bit near the end of the film that almost makes up for the rest of the movie.

And, to denounce HE GOT GAME as derivative of HOOP DREAMS, the award winning documentary.

26. It's often overlooked, unfortunately
I thought it was a great film as well. Clockers isn't one of my favorites of his either, but I thought it was pretty good. I actually think Son of Sam is one of the most underrated films of the last 15 years :)

Have you seen 4 Little Girls? It's a documentary he made about the 16th Street Baptist Church Bombing. It's a great documentary.

I'll admit he can be a jackass, but that million man march was a thing of great significance.

Get on the Bus really did a great job of giving insight into the struggles black men and teens face.

33. I still need to see Get on the Bus. Didn't Richard Price write Clockers?
Price, aside from being a novelist, also wrote for The Wire, which is Barack Obama's favorite television show.

Aha! Another person for Obama to reject! And denounce!

(Of course, I kid. The Wire was the best show to ever air on television. No qualifications needed. If you haven't seen it, all but the last season is on DVD. F'in brilliant.)

35. BHO needs the media and the Republicans to show him a picture of every black famous person and ask
him to reject and/or denounce every possible thing that they've ever said that may/may not reflect poorly on racial attitudes!

:sarcasm:

But they should not stop there. The MSM and Republicans need to dig up every single white person who knows every single famous black person and ask that person to vouch and verify that famous black person's reputation.

:kick:

If you believe any part of that overhyped b.s. that I just typed...then the Democratic party has some TRUE work to do within the party to heal some divides.
