I think we will know tomorrow if she is kicking off Hillary 2012
If she does not accept the Rules Committee settlement on FL and MI and carries it to the convention then we know that Hillary 2012 is in full swing. Get ready for 4 more years of McBush and the imperial presidency. The Supreme Court will be 7-2 or 8-1 neocon majority and Joe Lieberman will have a powerful cabinet level position, possibly AG or head of DOHS. What a lovely prospect for America.

1. Don't forget
if the GOP win this time, good-bye Roe v Wade. And expect a draft of some sort to bolster McCain's stance on staying in Iraq 100 years. And no benefits for veterans. In fact, no benefits for anyone not in the top 1%.

6. And I don't know about others but I will blame it all on her.

2. I think you're giving her way too much power.
If she takes it to the convention, the winner of the nomination will still win the presidency.

3. How does it help her set up for 2012 if she refuses to accept the RBC
decision when clearly all it will accomplish is to further piss off SDs? She does that she screws herself for 2012.

4. she's toast this time
Edited on Fri May-30-08 02:45 PM by Cheap_Trick
Next time, she won't even be allowed near the toaster.

Besides, Obama's going to be president until 2016.

So she's got that long to get her butter and jam in order.

5. I don't think so. This was her only chance and that is why she is going down swinging.
There is no way she would get as much financial support in 2012 as she did last year with her early start on fund raising.

7. I'll be interested to see if the FL and MI state officials reach compromise
How can she carry on a fight that even the STATES don't feel is
necessary? If the FL and MI officials are satisfied that their
voters' voices are being adequately heard, then who is Her Smugness
to override them and carry on this dispute at the convention?

In any event, if she continues after the states have settled
this (which hopefully they will do tomorrow), it won't look
good to the SDs, who are her last hope.

8. So, if Obama loses the election, it's Hillary's fault and not his?
If you want to keep McCain out of the White House, the only way to go is with Hillary because Obama can't win the election. Besides, how can anyone expect her to get out if she has the most total votes and her supporters want her to stay in?

9. If she goes on, it will be to see her delegates defect to Obama.
These delegates are humans, real people. Many will abandon Hillary once it is clear she has lost. They are not going to risk losing their political seat because she wants them to follow her into hell.

10. If she takes it to the convention, the Democrats lose. So here's how it should go...
Edited on Fri May-30-08 02:58 PM by IWantAnyDem
I think that if Hillary Clinton takes it to the convention that Obama will win on the first vote.

When he comes into the convention hall after he wins the first vote, his speech should be this:

I decline the nomination. My primary opponent wants this so bad that she fought me even after I had won by every measure. I therefore defer the nomination to Hillary Clinton. Thank you.

and then walk out of the convention hall without another word.

It would end the Clinton era forever and she would end up being the losing nominee instead of Obama since the Democrats will lose no matter what if it goes to the convention.
