Hillary is setting the stage.
I believe that Hillary will step aside and suspend her campaign within a week from today. Her campaign has shown movement towards accepting a compromise on the RBC Ruling. She knows that the superdelegates are going to move quickly after Tuesday. And, she knows where they are going.

Some of her lead surrogates have said they are with her through the last Primary vote. The Dem leadership, Reid, Pelosi, and Dean, have said they are not supportive of a Convention fight.

It is not an easy thing to accept defeat, especially one that has been so hard fought and expensive. It, also, is not an easy thing to accept your candidate ending their campaign.

Soon, we will go back to being the Democratic Party, and focus on defeating Grampy McDubya.

Until then, Hillary Clinton is an historical, determined candidate. Her exit and work for Unity could very well be remembered favorably in history. And, the Democratic Race of 2008 will be one to talk about for a very long time.

Things changed this year.

6. I think Hillary was showing her determination and strength.
And, if Hillary was really ever considering a Convention fight, she go the message.

29. apparently, she never got the message you thought she got.
it was all a betrayal of the committee. she was using the committee to increase her delegate count in the "compromise" and use it as an excuse to take over the convention.

been confirmed? It was merely unconfirmed rumor this morning.

Clinton camp: DNC lawyers 'incorrect'

"Hillary Clinton's campaign is challenging a recent analysis by Democratic National Committee lawyers over convention delegates, as they prepare for a showdown on the issue at a Saturday meeting of a party committee.

The DNC lawyers recently reported to the Rules and Bylaws Committee that the panel doesn't have the authority to fully reverse the current sanctions against those states, imposed when they failed to follow the party schedule for state primaries. The states lost voting rights for their delegates at the party's summer convention.

"This conclusion is incorrect," Lyn Utrecht, general counsel to the Clinton campaign, writes in a new letter to the RBC committee.

"The RBC has broad powers to fully reinstate the Florida and Michigan delegations," she says in the letter, provided by the campaign a few minutes ago. "It is a bedrock principle of our Party that every vote must be counted, and thereby every elected delegate should be seated."

15. I did, and i don't doubt that Hillary's lawyers are going to push big for her.
But, I just don't see her having the political or public support to go to the Convention. Her own surrogates and superdelegates will leave her. She risks major embarrassment. She can secure a positive place in history if she bows this coming week.

I really think it will happen this week.

I could very well be wrong, but I hope not.

19. About a week ago,
Rahm Emanuel was tasked with telling Senator Clinton that she needed to accept the rulings committee's decision. If she doesn't, a number of her supporters will not back her. And enough super delegates will endorse Obama to put the nomination well out of reach. Only a couple of her top advisers are telling her that she should continue. Most recognize that it is indeed over.

20. Democrat or traitor? We shall see.
If she concedes gracefully, and works her butt off to heal the party and get Obama elected, and if Obama does in fact get elected, then we can talk about her being a determined candidate.

If Obama loses, it is her fault and she is a traitor to the Democratic and - in throwing this election - to everything she claimed to believe in. It has to be said.

If she hasn't done the right thing by now, she won't ever.

She ought to have dropped out after Wisconsin, Ohio at the latest.

24. Should have, Could have, but chose not to.
For what could have been many different reasons. I am going to give benefit of the doubt, for now, that it has been largely for her supporters and an energized election.

In reality, this week will be her last chance for a Unifying Exit.

23. I agree that the most likely scenario is for Hillary to act like its a major...
deal to not take her act all the way to the convention, and for the good of the party will drop out EVEN THOUGH she believes she won the popular vote. This is a bizarre end-game strategy if you ask me, but hopefully she takes it.

25. If we don't get some resolution soon, i think...
she is going to have to take responsibility for tearing this party apart. How is it fair if she continues this charade and keeps taking money from her supporters that could be given to senate and house representatives for 08? Yes, we need to take senate and house seats too and they need money and manpower to fund their campaigns.

She's got to give it up next week if she wants any kind of legacy that might hold her in some sort of good stead.

27. If she had an once of class she wouldn't continue to attack Obama.
But, sadly, she doesn't seem to have any, and she continues to attack.

She has really trashed her own reputation and legacy with this campaign, and it's sad to see.

When will she show one ounce of loyalty to her party and ideals, and not to herself and her ego?
