$46.58
$46.58 .... The cost for a barrel of oil. (A RECORD HIGH)
I REALLY hope the American electorate gets pissed and holds those morons accountable when gas prices continue to rise. Where is your "recovery" now chimp boy?! :grr: :kick:

1. It was 40
...then jumped to 45! And now this? No wonder people are starting to shun SUVs. NPR had a piece about that Friday morning. There's a glut of them as they aren't selling due to the $ of gas.

2. I'm really surprised....
....at the lack of outrage for Bush and Cheney (oil boys?). You would have thought that all these people driving around in their gas-guzzling SUVs would have really been pissed by now.....

When Clinton kicked the gas tax up by a nickel, didn't the repubs threaten the economy would be crashing down around us? Where are those hand-wringing vermon now?

3. I am really glad that this will end up biting Bush in the ...
A*S and that it is also hurting SUV owners. I hate those gas guzzling, homes on wheels.

4. I guess Bush's Saudi buddies couldn't help him out this time...
they announce they are upping their production (as predicted, when its politically best for bush) in hopes that it would drive the price down and it actually goes UP!

not that anyone is happy about gas prices, but i sure hope this wakes some people up to the need for genuine energy independence and a president who will actually WORK to achieve that.

5. I have a question...
All this week oil prices have been climbing to record levels, back when oil hit 39 bucks a barrel, it was the main reason why gas shot to $2.21 a gallon (locally, upstate new york). Since then it fell a little to about $2.09 or $2.10 and has been steady. But this week, with oil going up, up, up, gas prices are down to $1.95 to $1.97.

So my question... at 39 bucks a barrel, just exactly how far were we getting it shoved up our asses?

6. Not good
With higher crude oil prices, there will be a ripple effect in the economy- higher inflation, higher transportation, higher food prices...
Very scary stuff :scared:

7. It's a shame every American can't visit Europe
and see how Europeans maintain a very high quality life while using far less oil than we do.
