Bush's latest gaff; who owns it?
"Our enemies never stop thinking of new ways to harm
America, and neither do we."

What we have seen in the last 5 years is a man who has
received intensive training in the art of reading a
teleprompter. He rarely makes mistakes with prepared remarks.
He reveals himself as an idiot only without a script. He has
a lot in common with Marlon Brando.

My question is, what did the script say? I must assume it
said what he said, because he rarely screws that up. This
forces me to conclude that the speechwriters have revealed
themselves as idiots also. Bush didn't misspeak; his
speechwriters did.

I'm an old lefty who marched against the Vietnam War. My sons
are 18 and 16. I have marched and will continue to march
against this reincarnation.

I have told my sons that I am perversely grateful to * for
giving me the opportunity to show them what citizenship means.

I'll see you in NYC, my home town.

4. The evil media will spin it in his favour...
even though on the merits and issues he will clearly lose.

the bar has been set sooooooooooo loooooooooooow for this president when it comes to just about everything. they will say "low expectations for bush, he performed better than expected so HE WON!" shure he did.

its no wonder his puppeteers only let him out for a press conference once every 9 months, because the reviews afterwards are always catastrophic.

Does anyone remember the reviews for his MEET THE PRESS interview? mr "I'm a war president." HA!

5. Low expectations may not work this time
I think people and the media are a lot less likely to give him a pass this time around, judging from recent coverage.

6. I think he's actually deteriorated since he's been in office
Not that he was all that smart before. Just that he seems even dumber now.

7. And They Think This Is Okay?
I was in drama/debate in high school and college. We had to do a lot of thinking on our feet and our answers had to be clear and precise.

Bush has been at this longer in dealing with the press and the public as govenor and as president. In my mind there's no excuse for this.

On that freaky list I used to be on (finally got tired of the cult), they thought these goofs and sounding like an idiot made him endearing. It showed how down to earth he was and made him more human. :wtf:

Cyn:)

10. When I heard him say that
"neither do we"

I thought that he dropped a word. But now I can't think of
what one word would make this sentence somehow logical.

At the Unity Conference, he mangled another word... he said that
terrorists... "shake the conscience of the free world."
What he meant to say was "shake the confidence".

11. I think he adlibbed the speech a bit..
and ended up sounding like an idiot. His speech was probably.. "Our enemies are resourceful. They never stop thinking of ways to harm this country and the American people." He added the "and so are we" and the "and neither do we" in his grandstanding..
