RNC Conventioneers Will Regret Selection of New York

There's still time for the Republicans to respect freedom of assembly, a right guaranteed by the Constitution. As one of the thirteen original colonies, New York will not easily surrender the First Amendment. New Yorkers will find ways to make their views known to the delegates.

By making legitimate protest illegal, the Republican leadership forces New Yorkers to find more personal, in-your-face ways to deliver their message. Everywhere they go, conventioneers will encounter groups of protesters who will holler at them, call them names, and ridicule them. The visitors will not find late Summer in New York a pleasant experience.
