is Alan Keyes any more extremist than some white Republicans ?
for Illinios he is VERY extreme. but looking at all states, and other politicians running or already in office, is keyes more extremist than they are ? is keyes more extremist than saxby chambliss or rick santorum, and many other republicans bush has campaigned for ?

why wont bush campaign with keyes but he campaigns for the others ? we know it's for political reasons. because sometimes state races become national news such as when hillary ran from new york, arnold in california, and of course illinois with both candidates for senate from major parties being minorities it is huge news even though keyes is a joke.

but i think we should use this as a "wedge issue" to divide republicans nationally. try to make bush out to be a hypocrite by campaigning for white extremists but not for keyes. if he does campaign with keyes it would show bush supporting an extremist also. either way it should get white moderates to be less supportive of bush.

jesse jackson has already seen this with his asking bush to have keyes get a primetime speaking spot, especially after bush made the comment about african americans being taken for granted. so he challenged bush to show he doesn't by giving keyes a speaking spot in primetime .

1. Keyes is pretty far out in whack a doo land
although Santorum is surely out there as well. Keyes probably appears more whacky since he tends to hollar more than most politicians.

3. Keyes is perfect!
There is no better way to show the difference between enlightenment and superstition than to see a debate between Obama and Keyes. Obama is the rational scientifically grounded candidate while Keyes is an African-American version of Mullah Omar.

5. keyes is the racist republican`s
house boy.speaks all the right words and always does his masters bidding. of course he deludes himself that he has the best job in the world cause he is cleaner than the slaves in the shacks. the difference is they have their pride and keyes has only his nice suit of clothes..

6. no, clearly not
the social conservatives fought the moderates to get Keyes in this race, so he typifies their views. They just love him and think he will beat Obama in the debates.

7. Keyes is no more extremist than lots of other republicans, although
he is more megalomanaical. I completely agree about using the Illinois race as a "wedge issue" to divide republicans nationally.

Keyes' candidacy in Illinois presents a great opportunity for democrats to begin to exploit divisions in the republican party. This race will be given a lot of national media attention. Democrats all over the country should constantly refer to Keyes as a main stream republican, representing the values of all true republicans and the real republican party.

Keyes is nearly as mentally unbalanced as Bush and is so manaical and extremist that millions of republicans all over the country will resent being identified with him. Bush might even try to distance himself from Keyes. The Reich wing fundamentalists will howl with hatred of any republican who criticizes Keyes on the issues.

Another possibility is to quote Keyes' criticisms of Bush as often as possible. This could cause some Reich wingers' heads to explode since they love Keyes but worship the LordGodBush.

This race can be used to sow some serious seeds of discord within the republican party and maybe start an internal struggle that will lead to the end of the control that the Reich wing fundamentalists have over the party or result in the republican party losing so many voters that its power and control is reduced.
