4. But..but..Aaron Copland was a Socialist!! And, investigated in the
McCarthy hearings!! Tsk, tsk, all you guys who want somebody who wrote "A Lincoln Portrait" (which is what he was investigated for) to represent the Democratic Party must be a bunch of Reds!

6. Here you go..
"The 1950's were also marred for Copland by the McCarthy Hearings. A controversy over programming A LINCOLN PORTRAIT at Eisenhower's 1953 inauguration led to Copland's being summoned to testify in a secret session. Refusing to implicate any of his colleagues and skillfully fielding questions about his own socialist politics, Copland managed to survive the ordeal without betraying any of his friends or principles."

He was one of them dirty commies like Leonard Bernstein, Pablo Picasso, Diego Rivera, Jean-Paul Sartre, Pablo Neruda, and a whole host of other "artistic types".

8. Sounds good to me!
I have always loved it, partly because there are no wind parts so I always got a break when we played it. Seriously, it is a good suggestion.

14. Maybe they could introduce him with Common Man and..
...close with johnny b goode? Kind of an eclectic, multi-musical interest appeal. Plus, I really think this campaign embodies the clash of interests between common person and the elite.
