Is Bush More Concerned With His Poll Numbers Than The Welfare
Of Floridians? John Kerry says he's not visiting the disaster areas because it will strain police and fire resources. But even though president Bush's visit will cost Florida millions to provide security for the Presidential entourage, he's going anyway. Isn't it just like Bush to think about himself first? How much is selfish George going to cost the taxpayers with his "UNNECESSARY" photo op. The people of Florida should be furious.

2. very good point. that's the genius in Kerry's statement, to focus on that
also, any sentance starting "Is Bush More Concerned With His Poll Numbers Than..." is, of course, to be answered "Yes"

but that is part of the president's job....

I just wish it was President Gore visiting..

Well, as a Floridian affected by the storm I wish it didn't happen at all...

I remember when Clinton visited a disaster scene and comforted those affected...

6. Bush has only paid for 1% of his campaign travel expenses

Bush enjoys travel advantage on taxpayer-financed Air Force One
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Bush is using Air Force One for re-election travel more heavily than any predecessor, wringing maximum political mileage from a perk of office paid for by taxpayers.
While Democratic rival John Kerry digs into his campaign bank account to charter a plane to roam the country, Bush often travels at no cost to his campaign simply by declaring a trip "official" travel rather than "political."

The 68,000 miles Bush has logged this year on Air Force One include five trips to Pennsylvania.

With rare exceptions, he confines his travels to the more than a dozen states he and Kerry are fighting hardest for, and to places where he is raising campaign money.

always chided Clinton for using AF1 to his advantage. These people have no sense of hypocrisy whatsoever.

9. Don't Presidents Visit Disasters?
I lived in OK when the Murrow Bldg. was blown up. When Clinton came he was slammed for taking a tragedy and making it political. All I could think of was where else should he be?

I don't like Bush, but shouldn't he go there?

Cyn:)
