Fox News: Charley's $$ Impact Will Show Up Right Before Elections.....

Do not watch Fox--can't stand it; but as I was flipping to another channel I heard them discuss something that was discussed this a.m. on DU and that drew me in for a moment (it was about Bush going to FL tomorrow and trying to tell people it wouldn't pull resources away from the work down there--yep, right; and Kerry saying that he would respect what is going on there and stay away so as not to take away resources, etc). Anyway...then they cut to the "financial guy".

He said that this hurricane and it's other damage as it goes up the East Coast is going to have a heavy financial impact (insurance, lost business, etc.) and that it's going to have a big impact on the third quarter economic reports that are due out mid-October, two weeks before the election. I couldn't "read" whether he was happy about that (i.e., Bush can blame the crappy economy on the hurricane) or whether he was worried to death about it's effect on Bush. Hope Kerry leans real heavy on the "economy" message at just, precisely that time. It's now not going to be even remotely 'good' for Bush.

That has been shipped to Iraq... wonder when / if that will ever hit the newspapers. That would be a good story to follow up on .... how Bush's WAR has left Florida vulnerable in their time of need !!!!

4. Another BIG storm is possibly on it's way.....

personally I think it has the Panhandle in it's sights....if this actually unfolds, Florida is going to need all the help it can get.

The economic impact will be devastating for the Nation as well.

If we are short on National Guard resourses then Bush needs to mobilize the Federal Active duty personnel that are here in this area.

We have four Active Navy and Air-Force bases in along the Panhandle, but yet a shortage of shelters for hurricanes???
