PLEASE SOMEONE, TELL ME I AM WRONG.
Just this past week, I get this sinking feeling that Bush is going to win again. Why?
Because I don't see us going for the jugular like they do. I don't see us fighting back against the preposterous allegations they make.
I don't see us up in arms over the lack of coverage of the Kerry Campaign compared to the Bushies.
I don't see us attacking those who attack us, like those swift boat morons. Why don't we have our own version of Karl Rove, a hitman who can spill some GOP blood.
There is an old saying.....the squeaky wheel gets the grease. In this case, the louder they shout, the more attention is paid to them. WE HAVE TO START SHOUTING. We have to answer ever dumb ass remark shrub makes and point out how he is such a total underachiever. We have to attack Laura Bush. Screw politeness. She is a valuable asset for them and we have to shut her down. We can with the stem cell issue. She doesn't have a clue what she is talking about and we should say so.
We have to be a little less cerebral and a little more like a bull in a china shop. We have to get tough...we have to be tougher then they are. You have heard the old saying....good guys finish last.
We cannot afford to be too good.
And finally, we have to be fucking up in arms over the media and its failure to give equal coverage to Kerry. Just measure column space in a newspaper or magazine.....look at political cartoon subject matter, listen to the hours upon hours of Limbaugh, Hannity and Savage on the radio. The American media has forgotten its historic and traditional roll to get the truth and report it accurately and fairly. The media today has become a pack of hacks doing the bidding of corporate suits.
To say I am pissed is putting it mildly.

I hope to God is am worrying for nothing, that my blood pressure is surging for nothing and that in November, Kerry wins in a walk. But I have suddenly become afraid that is not going to happen.

PLEASE TELL ME I AM WRONG.

1. Kerry Cause Bush To Change His "Turn The Corner" Theme
Kerry is in the lead.

When you're in the lead you don't go negative.

Maybe if you stopped listening to the poison on rush/hannity/savage you'd see the Reality.

I'm sure CNN will give him a leave of absence.

edit: realized "absence" is spelled a-b-s-e-n-c-e.

6. OK, You Are Wrong.
Have faith, I realize that it kind of seems like a roller coaster ride at times, but. In reality, it was a slow news week and many are getting burnt out by politics 24/7, so unless the media tries to stir it up, nothing will really happen. So, as always, the media has managed to get things all riled up over non-issues really.
John Kerry's message is still getting out there, as evidenced by the crowds he is drawing at all events, and the fact that in many polls, his lead is widening over the chimp's.

16. Don't get overconfident by Portland crowds because...
Portland and its Multanomah county are an island in
state of Oregon. The poster is right...Kerry is not
fighting back as hard as he should. I am hearing
Bush-Cheney commercial ad-nauseum about Kerry's
90 votes against tax cuts and 120 votes for tax
increases. Have not heard a single negative commercial
from Kerry-Edwards camp.

7. Read the book "Banana Republican"
It's about how the far right has taken control of the country because they consider politics to be war with a "take no prisoners" type attitude. I've forgotten a lot (I haven't read it, but I did hear an interview on the radio with the author), but they described things like when the Republicans sent their thugs to Florida to disrupt the recount.

Everybody says that they prefer a positive campaign, but negative campaigns ARE effective,

8. if you don't see people contacting the media
You haven't been reading close enough. There are threads all over the place that implement strategies regarding the media--which is, I believe, our biggest problem.

Going for the jugular has backfired on bush. Willingness to get down in the dirt isn't necessarily the way to win.

10. I feel the same way newscaster...
Kerry needs to get his ass in gear and start kicking shrubs
ass on these cheap allegations Bush/Cheney are throwing out to the media.
He's disappointing me at this point and I'm rooting for him (?)
I'm wondering what's going on.

11. Go take a look at the pictures from Kerry's Oregon rally
in Portland. Look at them all. You will feel better -- guaranteed.
And Oregon is a swing state.

Biggest political gathering in anyone's memory 50,000. More than twice as many as expected. Looking at the pictures is an emotional experience.

17. i'm afraid you're not wrong
the american public is apathetic. they don't care to inform themselves of what's going on. they believe bush, because his lives seem to lend meaning to things they want to believe.

i don't think he'll even have to cheat, much.

19. Yup.
Kerry was bleeding from the jugular as he addressed the largest political rally in Oregon's history. Kerry 's 5,000 mile swing got him great exposure in 82 markets. Bush pissed away 90 million for negative ads. They didn't work. Now they bet more on their losing hand. It never works out that way. But thats all they have.

20. Wrongomundo!
In the 2000 election, the majority of the voting American public did NOT support Bush*.

This time around, people are PISSED OFF in a Big Way so even more will be voting against him. The elderly, the Vets, the middle-class, the gay community, environmentalists, educators, college kids, women, etc......everybody's been screwed over by the bastard (except Big Biz) and he's in for a rude awakening when the righteously angry cast their votes.

21. Another Portland report- These big crowds do not usually appear this early
snip:

After worrying about their message, advertisements and grass-roots drive, the Bush campaign now has another concern on the horizon: the buzz generated by theatrical events, celebrity endorsements, and heavy supporter turnout on the other side, adding the glow of momentum to the Kerry campaign in a race that is locked in a statistical dead heat in most voter surveys.

Kerry, with the help of an occasional rock star joining him on stage, has sustained crowds into the tens of thousands since the convention in Boston, in a few instances clearly dwarfing the ticketed events President Bush tends to hold. Kerry, with fewer security concerns than a sitting president, can throw open his doors in ways Bush cannot, giving him a logistical advantage in building big audiences.
