This is one of the strangest posts I've ever seen

I don't like to link to freeperville (too much like gossip), but I'm sorry, I have to share this one:

It's one freep's view of Bush's Santa Monica fund raiser (Bob Boudalang?)

A Glimpse of What Life Might be Like Under a John Kerry Regime

What would life be like under a John Kerry regime? Some aspects of policies under a Kerry administration appeared to be in clear display earlier this week in the behavior and words of his supporters on the streets of a little town in California called Santa Monica. Santa Monica is well known for its liberal politics and the predominately liberal lifestyles of its inhabitants.
<snip>
Over the course of the afternoon Bush supporters in Santa Monica were spit at, jostled, cursed at, gestured to obscenely, heckled, bullied, shouted at, lied to, and otherwise abused.
<snip>
(Kerry supporters) used hundreds and hundreds of square yards of material with “pink” as the background color for their banners. In fact, a huge pink banner hung on the store front of one of the buildings across the street, and I seem to recall it said something in protest to the war in Iraq. This on a day when our valiant military where very evidently in harms way in Iraq. The site sickened me as I thought, “That’s going to be a motivation and great aid and comfort to our enemy.
<snip>
“Your safe now.” As I looked at the crowd across the street, raging in violent hatred, the thought also crossed my mind, “There’s the abortion crowd that’s contributed to the murders of millions and millions of innocent babies. Thank God this little baby has been completely born. They’ll have a lot more trouble murdering her now.”

Well...you get the idea

14. Portland rally story....
Unfortunately I wasn't able to go, ( taking my son to his mother , she lives out on the coast). That afternoon, shortly before leaving my parents place... I ran into a young lady who was wearing an 'Educators for Kerry' shirt. Got a chance to talk with her a bit, she mentioned that there was a person there using really foul language and haranguing the folks attending the rally. He got so out of control, that eventually, the police asked him to leave. I got to thinking that he was likely one of the Protest Warrior folks.

Anyway, she said it was a great rally. I'm looking forward to voting for Kerry this year, and hopefully we'll have a better person in office this next term.

Anyway, I pointed her to DU, thought she might appreciate the chance to chat with like-minded folks.

4. I find this sentence strange...
"Over the course of the afternoon Bush supporters in Santa Monica were spit at, jostled, cursed at, gestured to obscenely, heckled, bullied, shouted at, lied to, and otherwise abused."

Did any part of this really happen? Is there any documentation of any part of this really happening?

5. Don't know for sure but...
...it sure looks and smells like something that came from Limbaugh.
Or to be more precise, and to borrow from Al Franken, it came from the "Department of Rush's Butt."

6. Did you see this at the bottom of the post?
Ray Blumhorst is currently a Supervisor of Maintenance, and has worked in California public schools for over 30 years. In addition to his day job, he worked for 8 years as a part time teacher in California public schools in the evenings. Ray is a Vietnam Vet. Ray is also a victim of domestic violence and is currently the plaintiff in a civil rights lawsuit for an injunction against ten state funded domestic violence shelters that refuse to provide shelter or even motel vouchers to male victims. The action is currently on appeal before the 2nd District Court of Appeals of California.

He's the head janitor, and when he gets home, his wife beats his ass.

Talk about a tough life

11. I don't believe a word of it.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and I can tell you that Santa Monica is one of the wealthier suburbs of the city. Quite frankly, people with money simply do not behave in the manner described here. Although flipping Freepers the bird may be believable. :)

Abused janitors who are frustrated in their use of a legal system they hate might carry a slightly distorted view of reality.

I'd like to see proof that any of this even happened.

What? Who says? You mean someone like Bush would never act like this?

Bollocks...

17. * doesn't have money.
His family does. * has failed at absolutely everything he ever put his hand to. His money is ersatz, fake. And so is everything else about him.

If you think that wealthy Democrats who are attending a rally for Kerry would be spending their time pushing Freepers around instead of listening to the speech, then I would like--again--to see the proof that any of this took place at all.

Wealthy REPUBLICANS, OTOH--well, the Freep thread may accurately describe them.

20. Holy cow--I think you're right.
They're beginning to unconsciously absorb the looming prospect of powerlessness, and are projecting their own malevolent natures onto those whom they see as having the power, namely, us. Poor little them. Just like all the fundies who chronically see themselves as victims and martyrs beset by the satanic Libberuls.

18. Sounds fishy to me, but then again maybe the people out there
finally realize they were duped in the Energy crisis, etc. by the pugs and not Gray Davis! There is a lot of, to put it very politely, dislike out there for the Bush regime!
