Poll question: If the terrorists attack pre-election does it prove they want Bush to win?
Everyone seems to agree that if there is a terrorist attack, the 'rally round the flag' reaction will help Bush.

If the terrorists attack before the election, does it prove they want Bush to win?

1. How about if the * admin. instigates attacks, or LIHOP
your poll needs to add in factors relating to transparency and/or exposure on the part of the admin. in the 'terrorist attack'.

2. I would say that is a different question
and I would look forward to voting in that poll, if you make it.

3. Yeah - If the terrorists attack (IE BFEE) it will just prove they are...
desperately trying to disrupt the election.

No flag rallies, martial law and concentration camps (no election) would follow.

4. Absolutely.
If we believe the Republicans, the Democrats are the "weaker" Party on terrorism. Kerry is clearly leading in the polls. If the terrorists are truely concerned about electing the Party that will be easiest to fight, then that should mean that there will be no disruption of the election. If there is, I conclude they want Bush to win.

The Republican Big Oil Party and Al-Qaeda...a mutually co-enabling, dysfunctional couple. They can't survive without each other.

5. I disagree
Yeah right, a terrorist attack isn't going to help Bush. That'd be a second time he couldn't keep us safe.

Look how far behind Bush is anyway:

8. Spanish voters were pissed at their government for attempting to blame the
Basques for the destruction of the train. That fact is rarely mentioned by the "liberal" media.

7. we should start spreading the meme that an attack = bush failure
so that if it were to happen, there won't be a rally round the flag knee jerk reaction. i hate how the rnc puppets in the news keep saying that an attack will help bush. it's like they're subtly telling everyone that bush is needed to save us.
i wish i was loud enoough to tell everyone that if we get attacked, it means bush is not keeping us safe and we need to dump him.
and in the mean time, increased terror threats mean that the war on terror is failing.

11. Terrorists want him to win
Many things indicate they want him to win.

The Iraq thing, first of all, has been a great recruiting effort for them. Al Qaeda, contrary to what CNN will tell you, is probably stronger today in some ways. There is greater hatred in the Arab world now than there ever was before.

Bush is saying, "we're defeating terrorism", but at the same time is spreading fear through those terror alerts.

So which is it? Are we safer now or not?

12. From Muslim circles: Kerry will be no different than Bush
I don't believe that, but that's what they think, or at least say. I'd love to prove them wrong, but they do have one strong point.

It's not like the US would do 100% U-turn on foreign policy. They'll stay in Iraq. They'll keep supporting Israel. They'll keep buying Oil from despots.

To hard line political islamists the US election is a choice between 100% evil and 90% evil.

I hope we can prove them wrong. I think sometimes the leadership of these crazy groups want things to go badly, it makes people flock to their cause. When Bush is pissing on the world, people are signing up as activists for them.
