Spread jam on him -- he's toast.
What matters more than the polls, at this point, is whether the Repuklikans believe they can win. If they lose confidence at this point in the election, they lose the election -- and they are losing confidence, with good reason.

1. A cornered foe is the most dangerous foe
If they really believe the election is lost, they might try ANYTHING to reverse it from MIHOP to calling off the election completely.

2. What I've seen here is encouraging
But let's not get ahead of ourselves here. One thing that we simply cannot afford to do is underestimate the Bush team. We should be trying to beat the crap out of them at every opportunity and never let up until all the votes are counted. That said, I am feeling optimistic. Let's see if Kerry/Edwards can keep the momentum going.

5. Oh, I agree.
Keep pushing. But my point is that the signs of failing confidence on the other side are more encouraging than any number of polls. Big changes happen only when a ruling class loses confidence in itself.

4. agree with both above
1. These rabid dogs haven't had their at-bat yet (aka their convention).

For example, how positive do you think Zell Miller is going to be?

2. We are going to have to work it hard, all day every day, until Election Day. No coasting. In fact we need to press even harder, especially in Florida, which shows a good lead for Kerry but where there are already instances of Af-Am voter intimidation by the authorities (read Greg Palast's latest).

8. Zell Miller will sway 0 (zero) voters. He is not exactly an awe inspiring
speaker and he is dumb as a post. He may have the effect of making Chimpy appear smarter by comparison.

14. You may under-estimate...
... the "bubba vote" in the South. Zell Miller connects in Georgia and the South as well as with the undecided middle.

Don't underestimate Zig-Zag Zell. His convention speech will be loaded with soundbites that will resonnate after the convention.

16. It's impossible to misunderestimate the Bubba vote in South.
I wish it weren't the case.

Recent poll on whether or not the Iraq misadventure was a good idea showed huge shifts from previous polls for Northeast, Midwest and West.

The South? No shift. Brain-dead flatline.
