Hardee County Florida elections supervisor dies, Jeb Bush gets to
Appoint his replacement evidently...I'm not sure this matters but excuse me if I just do not trust Jeb Bush at all (can I get an amen).

Dean Cullins was the Hardee county elections supervisor which is an elected position and now Jeb Bush gets to appoint his replacement and I'm sure he'll choose some repuke partisan. I'm not very familure with this county's political makeup and whether it's in play or not. Gota keep your eye on Jeb though.

"TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Hardee County Elections Supervisor Dean Cullins died of a heart attack early Monday, Secretary of State Glenda Hood said. Details of Cullins' death were not immediately available, but Hood said it apparently was not directly related to Hurricane Charley, which bore through southwest Florida, including Hardee County, on Friday.

His death leaves Hardee County, already badly affected by the storm, with the prospect of having to prepare for the Aug. 31 primary elections without its chief elections official.

The county suffered some infrastructure damage but it wasn't clear whether polling place and voting machines were damaged or destroyed.

<snip>
The governor will have to appoint Cullins' replacement, said Lt. Gov. Toni Jennings. She said it was not clear whether a special election would be scheduled."

1. Hardee County...............
is a sparsely populated rural area that usually votes straight Republican. I wouldn't matter who Jeb appointed, they're Conservative down the line.
They got hit pretty hard by Charley, the towns of Wauchula and Arcadia were beat up pretty bad and I wouldn't doubt that had something to do with this man's demise.

2. Was his death a result of the storm?
The stress this past week in that area was horrendous.
