Great example of stupid voters
AP -

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=694&ncid=696&e=8&u=/ap/20040817/ap_on_el_pr/women_voters

The utter lack of even a tiny kernel of critical thinking displayed by these people is DEPRESSING! How are we supposed to elect a smart, qualified, wise leader when people think like this? So where did she get these impressions? Duh! Vegging out in front of the damn TV! I suppose Kerry should just run ads showing him carrying a big gun and shooting terrorists. That's about the level of subtlety required to get through to people like this. OK, rant over. I suppose the good thing is that they are 'swayable'.

Selected quotes from article...

-SNIP
Elizabeth Burnosky is a registered Democrat who voted for President Bush in 2000, opposes his policy on Iraq and calls Sen. John Kerry "a little wussy boy." There may be no greater commodity in presidential politics than a voter like Burnosky — an undecided woman with no firm party allegiance.

"I'd like to vote against Bush," she says, "but I don't know whether Kerry would keep us safe."

Remmey opposes the war in Iraq, thinks Bush has broken his promises on education and supports unfettered stem cell research, even after hearing Laura Bush's speech.

"Funny thing is, I can't quite tell you I'm voting against Bush," Remmey says. "It's hard to change. Check back with me in two months."

3. Ha! Great Idea

Tie voting 'weight' to IQ. :-) Seriously, to me, this just shows why education--real, solid, education--is important in a democracy, and also why republicans attack public education.

2. this 'safe' crap is really pissing me off
'safe' is statistically IMPOSSIBLE. no one can eliminate 100% of terror risk.

kerry will likely keep you safer than bush did. remember 9-11-2001? think that is MORE LIKELY to happen again under kerry?

7. Let's see who would keep us safer.

bush decided, without good information or the tenacity to verify it's validity, to bomb the living shit out of Iraq. Now he's helped Osama bin Laden recruit 18,000 (by some estimates) new terrorists to help destroy America. Our long-time allies, getting fewer by the week, have said enough with bush.

Kerry, on the other hand, is determined to take heroic steps to undo the damage bush has done regarding our position with our allies and create a coalition of nations to upset terror groups.

How is it Kerry isn't ahead 78-22 in polls? It continues to shock me that people can be so fucking stupid.

6. Why don't we have a test...

..and a voter must answer three of the questions before they can
vote.

Questions such as:

1.Who is the Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court?
2. How many voting members are there in the U.S. House of
Representatives?
3. In what year did the War of 1812 start?

This should prevent a large number of idiots from deciding our
future.

8. That's be a good idea
Or maybe just ask how many Supreme Court Justices there are, no less what the name of the Chief Justice is. How could people vote for a President who doesn't respect them at all and it is now proven that his tax cuts have benefited the rich, but they blindly fucking vote for him.

How about this question:
Do you have brain cells?

2. Who is eviller, Hillary Clinton or Saddam Hussein? (Trick question! They are both the Antichrist!!)

11. Or how about basic questions about the candidates?
I mean, I (*blush*) couldn't answer all three of those without google. But I do have a pretty good database of knowledge about the candidates building up in my head. I mean, if you can't even name the candidates for a position, should you really be allowed to vote in that race?
