The Freepers are in full out civil war mode from what I've seen on this thread!

6. Yep, I think we had differing views on how it should happen
I think I'm pretty close to the Barack Obama position which is targeted more at education, employment opportunities, and business startups.

I also think we got into specifics about how a lawsuit would play and the issue of "standing".

Regardless, I think Barack Obama has the dead on right idea about an approach that will work.

:D

4. OMGosh
From a poster there: "I want to know where my reparations are for the slaves taken from my ancestors."

You've got to be kidding me.

I also love how when the media reports something the freepers view as negative about one of there own, it must be 1) wrong 2) misreported 3) an out and out lie by the liberal media.

27. Another contender...
I read this in Mark Crispin Miller's new book Cruel and Unusual. * visited a slave museum on his trip to Africa a couple years ago, and then was quoted afterwards as saying (I'm paraphrasing, since I don't have the quote memorized) it was an inspirational story about how so many people left their homelands in search of freedom in America.

I almost dropped the book out of my hands.

There's really not much further to go, is there?

10. Well, he could go where my ultimate goal is
My first goal is to make certain he gets less than 28.98% of the vote to break his all time record for the lowest percentage of the vote he takes in a Senatorial race.

Ultimately, the ideal result would be a third place finish behind the Libertarian.

From the site: "Blacks still owe the federal government big time for the incredible expenditure of money and lives during the civil war which was fought to gain their freedom."

Unreal.

Edited on Tue Aug-17-04 02:46 PM by xray s
of course, Keyes was quoted as saying they would still have to pay FICA under his plan because "FICA isn't a tax"

15. But see the comment Keyes was aiming for......
"I am all for getting rid of tax's. For all but if only for blacks that is OK too."

Nutbag conservatives that hate taxes and the federal gov are happy to see any dumb reason.

21. More evidence that Freepers are dumber than the average bear...
People in that thread totally miss the point about the 1-2 generations. They seem to think that means the 1 or 2 generations removed from slavery. They are busy scracthing their heads about how to pay reparations to dead people. :dunce:

Not to mention the Carthaginians.
