"He thinks making millions with a song-and-dance routine allows him to...
...tell you how to vote."

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=795&e=1&u=/eo/20040817/en_music_eo/14740

After Bruce Springsteen (news) announced plans to participate in the anti-Bush concert tour, Vote for Change, a New York candidate for U.S. Senate has countered with a "Boycott the Boss" television spot.

Conservative Party candidate Marilyn O'Grady appears in a 30-second televison commercial, urging her supporters to show their solidarity to Bush by not buying Springsteen's music.

"He thinks making millions with a song-and-dance routine allows him to tell you how to vote," O'Grady says in the spot. "Here's my vote: Boycott the Boss. If you don't buy his politics, don't buy his music."

Springsteen "has a right to say what he thinks, but we have an equal right to speak," O'Grady said in a statement. "Now that he's moved onto the political stage to bash my president, it is entirely fair to respond."

16. I think it's just anybody who bashes "Her" President.
Conversely, bashing a musical icon is fine.

4. Oh but its okay for Toby
Keith or any of those other right wing "artists?" And its okay for movie actors to run for office? How is this different?

I don't know why she is wasting her time running to outseat Schumer. Like she is going to have any luck.

6. She doesn't have a chance
Schumer has something like 21 million dollars and this bitch has much less than a million. Now she's going to lose by a lot more. Pulling a stunt like this may go over better in Alabama where they'd rather listen to country "music" instead of real music like the Boss.

Schumer-65%
O'Bitch-35% if she's lucky

5. When you've got nothing to offer voters, run against something
Abortion, Gay marriage, The Boss... It's like the boycott noise they made over Nightline reading the names of the fallen soldiers; remember what a fuck-up that was. Oh well, such is republicanism.

9. A chilling little quote from Ms. O'Grady:
"Can you really run as a Republican and hide from President Bush for the whole election?"

http://www.voteogrady.com/news/millssham.html

...from O'Grady's indictment of Howard Mills, upon releasing his plan on lawsuit abuse, for "not finding room to even mention the President’s name in his 1830 word news release."

This woman not only appears to be crazy...she is BATSHIT crazy.

I'd have to say I'd be extremely disappointed if my great state elected this clueless moron. Maybe she can count on getting 15-20 upstate votes.

politics. Maybe if you like Bruce's music you know deep down inside that right wing blowhards like myself are full of shill.

to buy her newest single(accompanied on a real church organ not a synthesizer) "Nearer My Bush to Thee."

Is this unintentionally too offensive? If so, I apologize if the first layer of joke is extended to pun status.

Profusely.
