BWAHAHAH, the repuks sent me a fundraising poll
Who develops their mailing list? The repuks sent me a "special survey/poll" for "selected members of the republican party." Apparently "selected members" means lifelong Democrats. At any rate, I answered all of the questions "wrong" and wrote "GOD NO!" for the answer to the question "do you support electing more republicans to the Senate and House." Then I wrote "0" as my donation under "other" and added "I've never voted for a republican ever and I won't start with this AWOL lying POS."

think they'll know what a POS is? HEH HEH. It's childish but I love screwing with their mailings....

1. If the envelope is postage prepaid, tape it to large box of rocks and
return. They have to take it and pay for it.

7. you do know, of course, that prepaid envelopes
have codes in "invisible ink" that allow them to be traced back to the sender?

(just in case some of the more paranoid don't want to be tracked down - others may relish (mmmmm, relish) revealing their identity as the perpetrator of such a prank . . .)

3. Their mailing list is probably done by the same people who
put me on lists to mortgage and finace companies, who are always sending me junk saying that because of my excellent credit history and home ownership, yada yada. I went through bankruptcy and foreclosure in 1993 and haven't owned a home since. I gave up my house so that my daughter could go to college. (She's doing quite well now; it was worth it to me.)

4. I got one a month or two ago.
It said that if I wasn't ready to make a contribution and join the RNC, I should still send $11 to cover the costs of processing the survey. Eleven Freaking Dollars?!?!? Outsource, people, outsource!

5. Be careful!
It could progress to other mailings :)

Dh started getting RNC surveys about six months ago. It was getting so bad that when I opened our primary ballots (we do vote-by-mail), I checked to make sure he was still getting the Democratic ballot.

We didn't get a survey this month. We got an invite to a Bush event. Now, we didn't have the spare money to go, but it was rather disconcerting to receive an invite in our name at our home address to an exclusive Bush event. Way weird.

6. I got the same thing in the mail last week
Very odd, silly questions, promoting their agenda. I dutifully filled it in with my own answers, told them that if they ever had a chance to get another republican selected president that they needed to find someone who is not incompetent, filled up the pre-paid postage envelope with lots of paper, taped it shut and put it in the mail.

9. Send them a check for one cent
It'll cost them a buck or so to process it, along with postage, and it gets you on their list, so that you can do it again when the next mailing shows up in your box.

12. donating on-line with a credit card is better
cuz' it goes through automatically - your $0.01 donation costs them at least $0.39 in fees to the credit card issuer.

but, there could still be problems - if they get alot of $0.01 donations, they've probably set the account up to automatically reject them.

if not, the credit card issuer - a major bank no doubt, will likely recycle the fees right back into the gop's coffers.

seems like the deck is rather stacked. the box of rocks (see an early post in this thread) might be the only way to go . . .
