* * * BREAKING: HILLARY *ISN'T* 44! * * *
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 07:39 PM by Zhade
Yes, this is a bit of gloating, but for a good cause: to remind those who early on arrogantly proclaimed in print and graphics that clinton was a shoo-in, an unstoppable candidate who WOULD be the nominee no matter what.

I'd rethink that hubris now that your candidate failed to win despite her increasingly desperate tactics. Your arrogance helped fuel her proven lies and machinations, and helped destroy her chances.

Your arrogance. Not Obama's (WHAT arrogance?) or his supporters. Yours. Something to consider the next time you fly high with unearned overconfidence.

(And for fun - recommend this if clinton supporters' arrogance influenced you away from clinton even a little bit.)

EDITED to correct misspelling.

This is all old news. I'm moving forward to the GE.
Clinton lost and I see no reason to rub her supporters faces in it.

I'm just excited for Obama to mop the floor with that other guy.

Why hold onto this? People are wrong, people make incorrect judgements. People support losing candidates and say thing they shouldn't.

We're all likely to do it. Stomping someone's face on the curb ain't worth the energy it requires. And it leaves a mess afterwards.

The one thing about her is behavior on the trail - that 1st video I put in my post sums her up beautifully - I could NEVER see her as president after watching that mocking, saying, 'the skies will open up' and that horrible tone she says it in... barf.

52. This is counterproductive
Indulging in petty, mean-spirited gloating when you could be celebrating Obama's nomination in a positive and constructive way is neither original nor is it particularly inspiring. There's a much bigger battle ahead of us all, and I for one want the "Hillary is 44" people on OUR side of it, not on the sidelines. Please reconsider the tone you are taking here.

Thank you

I for one want the "Hillary is 44" people on OUR side of it, not on the sidelines.

If you go to that site you will see that the vast majority of posters there not only are going to vote for McCain, they are going to contribute to him and actively work for him.

I'm all for party unity, but the sort of thing you can read at that site should be exposed for what it is.

Knock off telling people to knock it off and we'll be fine.

69. That is the goal. Prescribing for other people, not so much.
What does it hurt to let people get it out of their system? It's not like we're in Times Square with a bullhorn wearing Skinner's bumper sticker.

We'll be just fine. This is a community, lol, of people who care about each other a great deal. :)

...and not get a chance to make my point until now, when she's finally accepted her loss - which was in part fueled by this arrogance.

I'm not interested in graciousness with this post. I don't have to kiss their asses after they lied and attacked Obama supporters for this long.

Give me some time.

81. I think the time for attacking them has passed.
You and I and many other Obama supporters hit them right back during the campaign, and that was fine, but personally, I would rather look forward now and move on without rubbing people's faces in it.

Just my two cents.

Now, there are other folks who have a different sense of that timing and they will come on board.

There are trolls here who just want to keep things stirred up, no doubt. But, most posters are just our DU friends who are finding their way here. Wait up. :)

116. I never supported Clinton
I never supported the candidacy of Clinton; was strongly opposed to it. But I have no need to gloat, celebrate her loss, or ridicule her supporters. I don't remember any of these terrible offenses that Clinton supporters are supposedly guilty of, and I have no desire for revenge. If they were over-confident, so what? She was the front runner at one time. I can't understand the deep sense of being harmed or offended that some Obama supporters seem to be feeling, nor do I understand the melodramatic ultimate showdown between good versus evil characterization of the race.

I don't think this has anything to do with Clinton, nor with Clinton supporters and their supposed crimes, nor even with "supporting" or promoting the Obama candidacy. I think it reflects an emotional need that some Obama supporters have - they are using the Obama candidacy; abusing the candidacy really - as an excuse to lord it over others and get a vicarious feeling of personal power by associating themselves with the winner, and vent personal frustrations and express hatred and belligerence ina "safe" way, just the way some sports fans do with their favorite team. Some seem to feel compelled to indulge themselves in this even if it hurts the party's chances in the general, and I believe that it will.
