How Long Will It Take Repukes to Impeach Kerry After His Victory?
Edited on Tue Aug-17-04 04:25 PM by maxrandb
Seriously. I think that they are already preparing for *'s defeat and Kerry's victory. Lots of rumblings and hand wringing, plus they are looking at potential folks for the MA Senate seat being vacated by a President Kerry.

That being the case, I also see lots of little RW tactics taking form, planting little seeds for what I think will be their future attempt to once again overturn the will of the American people.

First you had Sludge and the "alleged" affair. Then Sandy Berger and the whole "socks" thing that turned out to be bogus. Everyday now Hanity is beating the drum that Kerry is a war criminal who has (in insanities words) "admitted to war-crimes and atrocities". Then you have this group bringing into question his military service and medals, etc. It just appears to me that they are laying the groundwork for Impeachment Part II.

I personally think that if they tried this it would be political suicide, except for the fundies and true believers, they would alienate the rest of the US. Nobody said they were smart, but I've said it before....these folks will not go quietly.

5. It didn't work the last time, so it'll probably not
get off the ground this time. Ted Olson quitting the Bush junta to go back to Arkansas smells of another Scaife project to mount a coup, though.

I sincerely hope Scaife spends a lot of money on this one. I sincerely hope it breaks him. I won't believe in justice until I see the lot of them squabbling over mildewed food out of a dumpster.

9. they KNEW it wouldn't work last time
they were laying the groundwork for the 2000 election, and Gore's almost assured nomination

perfect platform to continue smear campaign, and to set up the most ironic campaign slogan in US history:

Restory honesty and integrity to the WH

6. I'd bet somebody is already drawing up the impeachment papers
Edited on Tue Aug-17-04 04:31 PM by Walt Starr
Bob Barr started drawing up Clinton impeachment papers before the 1992 election.

11. Since...
Since I remember seeing various "Young Republicans for Ignorance" carry professionally printed "Impeach Clinton" signs the day that Clinton beat Bush41, I'm willing to beat that we'll see the first "Impeach Kerry" signs the evening of November 2nd and morning of November 3rd.

The bumper stickers will be out within 48 hours after that.

House and Senate hearings and investigations to try reasons to impeach Kerry will depend on who has control of the House and Senate. If Delay is still in the House, and the Republicans still control it, the investigations would start as soon as possible after the election

22. Does not Matter to Them. Want to Read Something Scary
Take a look at this.

http://www.nljonline.com/nov03/liberty_university.htm

"One of the main reasons lawyers have been soundly criticized is because many of them lack principle and most have never been taught about the rule of law. That is why we need another law school. In August 2004, Liberty University School of Law will welcome students to the inaugural class. This law school will not be one that churns out money-grubbing attorneys devoid of ethics, with no clue about the rule of law.

The Liberty School of Law will train young people to integrate their biblical faith into their everyday practice. Most students entering law school today have no solid biblical worldview. Lack of an organizing worldview leads to the acceptance of ideas based solely on the quality of the opponent’s rhetoric rather than logic. Our law school will train its students to be critical thinkers in the best western traditions.

Since lawyers later become judges, it is important that a law school lays a firm foundation in the rule of law. Liberty University School of Law will provide a wide-ranging curriculum which emphasizes the rule of law."

Let the inquisition begin

13. It will be quick unless a few Democrats grow some spine
With the current batch of Democrats in the Senate and Congress, Kerry may be in trouble.

Even as the minority party, the Republicans would probably kick our asses, because they aren't afraid of pissing people off to get what they want.

14. If things go well
it should take them as long as it took them to get Clinton.
I just hope Kerry can hold up under the pressure the right wing is going to put him under and do a good job.

16. What makes you think they'll wait until he's President?
After the election, they'll rush to pass a law that allows them to impeach a President-Elect. No reason will be required, just enough radical right wing votes in Congress.

17. if Kerry plays things as smart
as president as he has done as candidate, they'll be hard pressed. Kerry will have one big advantage in that he is an insider that knows exactly what the scum of washington can do. Clinton, I think, was taken completely by surprise at the vindictiveness. And then, even when he realized, he still let his guard down. I don't think Kerry will do that.

23. How long will it take US to impeach Bush after he steals it?
If he succeeds, that is. We really do need a plan B, and we should just plain obstruct his governance in any way possible should the worst happen.
