Does anyone remember this story about Alan Keyes?

I can't find anything on the net to back this up but I swear I remember some crazy story about him claiming to be kidnapped briefly before a Republican debate because the Republicans didn't want him to show up. I also remember that the police couldn't find any evidence of this happening. Does anyone else remember something like this? Or am I slowly going crazy?
