One of the greatest aspects of DU, is our ability to come together over the ether and get our views heard. For what anybody else tells you, WE are America, folks. This is, (somewhat biased), the best place on the net for voices to come together in unison, basically we've done that.
Now we need harmony, not a cacophony of voices in the dark. We will always have differences on what we, as individuals, believe are the real priorities, as we see them. The list is endless, and it makes little sense to over it; besides, it constantly changes...:)
My point is, regardless of where your priorities lie, there must be one overriding theme, and that is the defeat of the bush cabal.
I urge all of you to stay close to your principles, but to never forget why we are here. When it is all said and done, if we get stuck with 4 years of a lame duck bush admin, we won't have a country to save. We will actually wind up with some kind of eerie fiefdom of the rich, where everyone works for "those of the manor born". That is precisely what the Founders and the Patriots before us feared most, and we, as their prodigy, cannot allow this to happen.
One of the greatest pleasures and honors I've had, is to be a Mod here at DU. Because of that, I often get information funneled to me, and it gives me a fantastic perspective of how people feel and what they are willing to do to get bush out of office. I get directed to threads, as well as prowl around, to see how we are thinking. And while we are getting closer all the time, we still have not come to be harmonious.
Let us never lose sight that the defeat of bush is the link that holds us all together. We will get problems fixed, not all of them, of course, but Kerry is our best hope and our candidate. This fight is not over, and it won't be until Nov. But the solidarity we have behind the Kerry campaign is what will get us over this nightmare, and we will rise to a new dawn, a day we will never forget, the day We, The People, got our country back for all Americans.
Thanks for letting me rant on.
May you all prosper under a Kerry Administration.
