I have a theory.. about Florida.
I've noticed that the media really aren't talking that much about Florida this year, at least when compared to how much they talked about it in 2000. They've been more centered on Ohio really, along with some focus on Nevada, Iowa, Wisconsin, etc.

Recent polling consistently shows Kerry with a semi-solid lead in Florida (average: ~6%). And the demographic shift in Florida over the past 4 years has been very helpful: over 1 million voters have moved to the state, with over half of them being African or Hispanic American.

If the election were held today and if Kerry were to lose, say, Wisconsin & Iowa, he'd still win easily with Florida in his pocket. So my theory: is the Kerry campaign being hush-hush about Florida on purpose, so as to attract a bit less attention there by Bush supporters?

2. That seems plausible.
I'm personally skeptical about Ohio. It seems like the redneck-y parts of the state are bound & determined to vote against their own interests once again. But Flordia, despite Jebby controlling a lot, will be under a microscope this time..

It almost seems like Kerry is doing one of those magic tricks where he snaps his fingers on one hand while saying, "Look at this - look at this" (Ohio) - while his other hand, being non-watched, is doing something more important (Florida).

7. Or maybe
they know something about possible fraud in the state but aren't reporting on it. The media hasn't really been doing their job in the last several years.

There's no reason FL shouldn't be a state Kerry wins. It's been polling more favorably for Kerry than WI and IA have been, hell even MN for that matter.

3. I think the reason we're not hearing
about Kerry's being ahead in Florida is the same reason we don't hear much about Kerry being ahead nationally or anywhere else. The media is working hand in glove with *. The fewer of the general population that knows that Kerry is significantly ahead in Florida, the easier it will be for Jeb to steal it.

4. Or, perhaps, our trembling media
is merely afraid to discuss the preparations being made to steal the Florida "vote" again.

5. I don't think the "pundits"......
talk about the demographic shift in Florida enough. It would seem that no state's demographics have changed at a faster pace in recent years. A strong vote turnout effort in FLA and I think we win the state.
