Colorado -- from fairly reliable Bush to dead heat with Kerry
Colorado is shifting towards Kerry pretty dramatically in the latest polls. Kerry is now neck-in-neck with Bush, a dramatic improvement.

1. Awesome!
I plan to move there in the next two years to go to CSU. It would really rock to know I would be among friends.

...and if Amendment 36 passes (got my fingers crossed BIG TIME!) it could be the proverbial straw.

Bold Electoral Vote Plan

snip . . .

"Under the current system, the winning presidential candidate gains all nine of Colorado's electoral votes even in a close race. Under the system proposed by Amendment 36, the winner's net gain in a close race would be one vote (a 5-4 victory in electoral votes). Will Colorado simply be reducing its own national influence if it divides its electoral votes among two or more candidates?"

On edit: the above is a LTTE

5. Electoral College Vote
Colorado may join Maine and Nebraska as states that allocate their electoral college votes according to which candidate wins in each Congressional district, if the amendment passes. On CNN today it was mentioned that if this system had been in effect in Colorado in 2000, Gore would have gained enough electoral votes to win the White House, and Florida's flawed election would not have mattered!

3. Looks like Salazar has a tough fight ...
but a chance -- just as Kerry does.

6. Salazar will win, Bush will also win (in CO)
and we may send a Democratic congressional delegation, IMHO.
