Anyone?

I know that he has foreign policy experience and he could deliver a swing state. What else should we know about him? He's virtually unknown and that could be a good thing...

Anyone email the Obama campaign on this?

5. Can't do
He won't win Montana for Obama and Montana needs all the Democrats in office it can get. So, I wouldn't recommend the guy.

12. Whether he can deliver Montana is irrelevant
Montana only has 3 electoral votes. But what he can do is shore up Obama's weakness with rural voters, which could go a long way to locking down states like OH, PA, and NH. He also would help in the Western states like CO and NV. Admittedly Montana's loss would be the entire country's gain.

6. Blog Left In the West has some diaries on the subject
http://leftinthewest.com/

You may have to scroll down to find them but they had a big discussion about Schweitzer for VP a few days ago.

I live in CT but LOVE Gov. Schweitzer and would love him to be VP.

7. One quick point in favor of Gov. Schweitzer...
He can talk tough against Republicans, like Sen. Webb does, but he doesn't have the pro-Confederacy baggage.

8. Love love love him.
Every time I've heard him interviewed I'm more impressed.

He's the kind of outdoorsy everyman who can appeal to hunters and fishers. He pushes the "conservation" tag, not "environmentalism."

He's the first person I heard really discuss the fact that when the big glaciers in Montana are gone (as they are going now), the source of the Columbia River will dry up, and all those folks downstream (are you listening Vegas and Phoenix?) will be in deep doo-doo. He was also discussing alternative fuels once when I heard him, and a cleaner type of mining they were beginning to practice out there (sorry, my mind's gone blank on the name of it).

Schweitzer rules.

14. He's a rancher and a soil scientist
He worked in the middle east on irrigation projects for a number of years, and speaks Arabic.

He's got a 70% approval rating in Montana, and the endorsement of the NRA.

He takes his dog to work with him.

What else do you want to know?
