Shows Kerry 48, * 42.
But what was more interesting about the presentation on WHYY, the Philly NPR station, was that the announcer's text implied that the numbers were very very close. Then, the interviewed Terry Madonna, who's the local 'expert' on these things - remains to be seen of course - and he said that the undecideds were breaking into the camps, thus fewer of them all the time. We know that the polls in PA are traditionally biased towards Repubs except for any poll which has Rendell as a candidate. Seems to me that PA ain't going for this guy and the minority communities are really mobilized this time in Philly and Pittsburgh. Traditionally Dem upstate near Scranton Wilkes-Barre will hold, since this guy hasn't done them any favors either and all those visits will be wasted unless Diebold comes through for them.
Could happen here - I recall in the last elelction when former Guv Thornburgh predicted PA for * by 2-3 pts on Election Night in the same manner in which * negated the networks' prediction of Florida. It was really eerie in retrospect. What was funny was that it was Dan Rather I bellieve, who interrupted Thornburgh to tell the nation that PA had gone for Gore. Thornburgh genuinely looked surprised, as though things hadn't worked out. Later that evening of course, things went their way.
Someday, somewhere, sometime, the chickens will ocme home to roost here - the equivalent of the Dictabelt which recorded the sounds of Kennedy's assassination. You need more than the smoking gun in this country to battle the bald-faced liars.
Right now NPR is running a 'wonderful' piece on *'s trip thru Minnesota - they're sounding more and more like Faux these days. Between Juan Williams and Cokie, I'm having trouble keeping my breakfasts down.
