McCain is trending downward in Florida, Ohio, Michigan, Viriginia, North Carolina, Mississipi, New Mexico.
Michigan had been looking like a bright spot for McCain given the Primary shenanigans there, but MI is now moving towards Obama.
Perhaps the biggest symbolic problem for the GOP is Mississippi, McCain has lost substantial ground over the last two months. Mississippi is the heart of the South and should be absolutely safe for him, though McCain holds only a modest lead of 6 points, if he's forced to campaign there between now and NOV the moral defeat for the GOP would be obvious. Everyone is going to say I am crazy to think there's a shot at Mississippi and that we should focus on Viriginia, North Carolina, New Mexico and Colorado, Nevada -but I say the spread in Nevada is about the same as in Mississippi, both are in our reach to at least make really competitive.
Everyone expects Obama to campaign in Nevada, no one expects Mississippi, if he did you know the news will be all over it and there actually will be a few conservative leaning independents around the country who might just find the brogadacio of it all, taking the fight right into the lions den, absolutely irresistible.
that coupled with intense voter registration may not put Mississippi or Nevada in Obama's column but may just give us a few more seats in the House, but more importantly force the GOP to waste their precious money in states that should have been safe.
