"Bush might win but he'll know he's been in a fight."

Some pundit said this a few weeks back and I'm reminded of it again and again recently especially when I read stories like this.

The repubs cannot even reply with anything valid or remotley on point to crticism like this. And I love how Kerry uses Shrubs own phrase against him in this line:

"Fighting back, Kerry said if Bush wants to "have a debate about our service in Vietnam, here is my answer: 'Bring it on.'"

He's a scrappy one, that Kerry.

edit: fix link

1. On Tom Hartman show the other day
he did a segment on the power of using ridicule of your opponent and he didn't think that the democrats were taking advantage of it as well as the republicans do and he played different clips where Dick cheney for example were using it to their advantage.

I think this statement by Kerry demonstrates that they do know how to use that to their advantage.

4. Ridicule Is Really Helping Bush In The Polls...
Kerry has to be careful about "Bush-bashing." Nothing wrong with "Kerry-bashing" because it isn't as much fun for pundits to say as "Bush-bashing."

Either way, it's a losing strategy for Bush.

2. Do You Think Bush Would Care?
even if Bush wins by the tiniest margin or on worse technicalities than last time he will act like he has a mandate & govern accordingly

"I won, so people must want Constitutional amendments saying it is okay to discriminate against gays, saying it is okay to charge women who miscarry with manslaughter, to have prayer in school, etc & I'm going to make sure my judicial appointments reflect these views and don't legislate from the bench. Oh, stop whining about the fact that Kerry won the popular vote, tied in the electoral vote and congressional delegations helped break the tie. And don't be a sore loser and bring up those faithless electors either. The American people have spoken."

5. Of course I don't.
I'm just remarking on how impressed I am with Kerry's scrapiness. As evidenced in races past it's not characteristic for a Senator to really catch on to national electoral politics and to fight the opponent with their own tools. He's got a fighting spirit.
