What will Bush's 911 image be?
Edited on Thu Aug-19-04 10:47 AM by wurzel
Standing on the rubble with his arm around a firefighter, speaking into a bullhorn. OR. Sitting impotently on a stool in a classroom of kids he had sworn to protect, reading "My Pet Goat"?

1. To most Americans, the bullhorn pep talk will stick.
Just about everyone saw that and the Repugs will probably sneak that into the election propaganda soon.

Very few Americans saw the "My Pet Goat" meltdown. That's too bad, because it's the most damning footage of a president in history.

2. Great campaign ad for the Dems.
They need to buy up 8 minutes of ad time spread out across a long show, movie, miniseries, or sporting event.

Then, in little 90 second intervals, they show Bush sitting in that classroom. Show the whole thing, but break it up across the span of the program. That will keep it short enough that people won't change the channel, but also keep it frustrating enough that people will get the message.

It'd probably be best run during sports events, since there's enough time to keep dropping the segments without buying out the whole advertising block for the show.

3. Awesome idea.

Never happen though. Be better with a slit screen showing events in NYC.

But than we would be politicizing 9/11.

5. Didn't he get the "Yellow Heart", and the "AWOL Double Cross""?

4. It will be many things
but I truly believe history will record him as bungling a chance to stop 9-11 because of his obsession with Iraq.

Too many insiders from his administration like Richard Clark were successfully swept under the rug. But the media cannot stay compliant forever. Our kids will learn the truth in school.
