Please, what is with the Cambodia Kerry X-mas story
I heard snatches of this distraction for the past week or more and can only find links to Drudge (won't go there) and other winger sites. I know that the Cambodia border at that time was an undefined boundary of changing islands and backwaters.

What is the story here? It is so small an aside yet the Nutters are hanging there hat on this as it's all they got. I'd like to rebut them.

Thanks

StClone

1. Its pretty weak" Where exactly was Kerry a hero?"
you pick which. "Well, where was he a hero? Answer the question? Which?" Actually, the Bush camp is so on the defensive that there smears are all fake echoes of the truth about Bush: they can't find Bush in Alabama, so they go after whether Kerry was in Cambodia. Bush takes vacations constantly, so they go after Kerry's attendance.

2. Do a google news search about Kerry and Cambodia.
He was sent to Cambodia a couple of times to drop off special forces.

8. No, no, no, the real story is...
... his GPS-enabled cellphone wasn't working properly.

You know, all the satellite-linked, portable consumer electronics that were available 30 years ago?

Or, or, wait! Maybe he PURPOSELY disabled the OnStar system that comes with every new SwiftBoat when you order the moonroof/CD-changer package!

The nerve of that guy! Why didn't he have a professional surveying team with him as he slogged through the jungle?

Or better yet, what was his role in erasing the dotted blue lines that separate countries, as anyone who's ever seen a map can tell you?

Huh, huh? Answer THAT, Mr. Kerry... IF that's you're real name....

4. I am not completely certain
I think this story is way over...for MOST of us but the repukes that keep it going.its because he said he was in Cambodia and I thnk he was right outside cambodia..but they consider him a liar for that..its silly and I might not have it completely right but I don't think anyone but the repukes on the cable news shows care about this crap...what does this have to do with the way our country is headed??? I keep thinking about what if dean or clarke won the nomination?? what kind of smear campaign would they be running on them...its stupid what they find newsworthy

6. You don't have to rebute non-stories...
This is the problem....repukes like to draw us into these arguments that have no bearing at all on the election. When a repuke tries to draw you or the campaing into one of these, it takes time and effort to research and draft a response. We can't get bogged down in mud holes THEY create. They are scared and they fear their guy is going to lose this election, so they try every trick in the book to distract us. Stay focused!

If they want to discuss Vietnam, then they have to fully deal with the FACT Bush was AWOL. His own records prove it. He couldn't even serve his full term in the Texas Air National Guard.
