John Kerry won by a knockout today.

No TKO -- A dead, flat out, fist-in-your-face-ramming-your-nose-into-your-skull knockout.

Kerry's campaign reminds me of Ali -- finesse, style, brains.

Bush's campaign reminds me of Mike Tyson -- a bit bull brawler who is dumb as a sack of rocks.

Kerry let the issue fester for two weeks.

During that time, the setup was being staged.

It can not be coincidence that he delivered the knockout blow on the same day that his critics lies were exposed to the world. I mean, come on, Kerry used the guy's OWN medal citation to bolster his argument.

Fucking brilliant.

and stay on the offensive. Things have been looking good regarding the polls. It will be interesting to see what people have to say after today.

A few rounds of rope-a-dope and then the big bad opponent (all due respect and love for George Foreman) is on his ass, cold-cocked.

5. At the time everyone thought Foreman was unstoppable

I mean he was huge, much bigger than Ali. He was more formidable looking and acting at that time than Tyson ever was, and he had knocked out cold most of his opponents.

The Foreman of that time was not the smiling face we know today. He was huge muscular menacing presence with a scowl and a record in the ring to fear...

I recommend everyone go and see When We Were Kings - it's the documentary about this fight and it is a gripping account with all kinds of footage from the period. It covers the months leading up to the fight and about how everyone thought Ali would lose.

20. For the readers out there, I'd also recommend David Remnick's

brilliant book centered around the Ali-Foreman fight "King of the World."

Probably the best sports book I have ever read; a brilliant work of nonfiction by the editor of the New Yorker.

Also, the fight tape itself is worth a watch. Incredible fight.

3. Oh I so agree

Kerry's sly. And always everyone underestimates this man. Just as the pressure on his convention acceptance speech was so incredibly high and he pulled it off. I was actually amazed.

That's when I knew. He's not going down!

Smart wins over stupid and I even actually believe that good can win over rotten. It's so hard to believe and understand all the doubts, but still I keep saying-have faith in Kerry, he's smart with a fighter's heart.

I wholeheartedly agree, and felt so proud watching him today. He was right, wasn't he? In the primaries, when he promised us he was a FIGHTER, he wasn't bullshitting us.

He IS a closer. He KNOWS he's got Bush by the 'nads, and he's playing this perfectly.

Sadly enough, although we're happy with Kerry's move today, it's too early to see how it will impact the playing of the game, much less the outcome.
