Congressional Research Service on Power to Suspend Elections
Edited on Thu Aug-19-04 02:18 PM by HamdenRice
So who says, that just because the New York Times scolded them, they've given up their detailed planning for the circumstances under which to cancel the elections?

Read it and weep:

Also interesting to note that State Dept under saint Colin leaked this one through its web site,

http://fpc.state.gov//c4763.htm

even though State is only supposed to post CRS studies that pertain to international relations!

1. So the repug controlled congress can give * the authority to
decide if and when a national (presidential and congressional) elections are held. Do I have that right? Good luck Smirky....you'll wish you went back to the ranch.

3. Basically two points ...
Congress has the power to postpone the elections; and Congress can delegate that power to the President.

2. History is that they never give up only go underground to continue
their devious plans. As to this report, it seems that once again lawyers are trying to find loopholes if congress will do their bidding.

4. Who would have been dumb enough to believe THAT?
Bush, Stalin, Hitler ALL work the same way. No stupid Sham legislature is going to stop THEM. No criticism is going to slow them.

And, in Bunnypants* case (though I have absolutely NO DOUBT he dreams of the unchecked Totalitarian POWER his grandchildren will have UNLESS WE STOP THEM), when he is forced to do what Hitler and Stalin didn't have to (which is pretend he is following the Constitution ofthe Old Republic of America), is to simply re-open the offending item somewhere else under another name.

Why would ANYONE believe for a second that a guy like Hitler/Stalin/Bush would behave like a Leader of a Free Nation?

Sheesh!

:freak: :freak: :silly:
