So all this time, Thurlow thought he got a Bronze Star for helping?
That's what this Larry Thurlow is saying; that throughout these years he thought he had received a Bronze Star for simply helping out a boatload of men who had run over a mine.

He thought the Navy gave out medals for that? Wouldn't every medic in Vietnam have received a medal everyday for "helping?"

1. I'm also sure that in the 30+ years since, he NEVER read his citation
and never actually knew what it was for . . . oh that's right, he conventiently "lost" it.

4. And he must have had beans in his ears the day....
the citation was read aloud at the presentation of his medal.

5. Maybe he was deafened from "returning fire" even though
he wasn't being fired on? :)

9. NEXT LIE: "My dog ate my citation"
I WISH somebody would point out how many stories these liars have trotted out!

Thurlow is up around six or seven now!

2. That is kind of ridiculous on his part
Why would they give our a bronze star if there was no real danger. And, even if there was no gunfire wouldn't that mean that Kerry had to go through the same risks to help the Green Beret?

7. Is there some difference between a Bronze Star and a Silver Star?

3. He's a liar! He's a lunatic! Wait! He's both!
He lost all credibility with even the wacko freeperish vets when he claimed he "lost" his Bronze Star citation.

Anyone who has ever known a medal winner knows that those citations are framed and hanging on the wall somewhere in the vet's home!

6. Here is my reply to Mr. Thurlow
Sir,

Did you read your citation when you received your bronze star?
If you knew that the citation was false, did you not have a duty,
as an officer of the US Navy, to bring this to the attention of
your commanding officers immediately? Accepting a medal or citation
knowing that the information which led to the award is false is,
at the very least, conduct unbecoming of an officer of the US Navy.
This would be grounds for a courts martial at the very least. If
there was any promotion subsequent to your accepting the medal, fraud
may be an applicable criminal violation as well.

You had a duty AT THE TIME OF THE AWARD to bring this to the attention
of your commanding officers, in writing, and you had a duty to refuse
the medal and lodge complaints THEN about other awards given to
other officers under false pretenses.

8. On CNN this afternoon, Larry said HE was the one doing the shooting.
Isn't that an interesting development?

So... Larry the Liar wants us to believe that he just started firing like a nutso maniac? What were the rules of engagement, exactly, Larr-O? So, you weren't returning enemy fire? You were just, I dunno, firing? Trying to scare up the enemy, engage them your damned self?

Weird twist, Larry. Weird.

Oh Shit... Larry, is it possible that Kerry received one of those Purple Hearts because of your friendly fire? Is that what has your panties all in a wad?
