14. Meanwhile
While death is abound in the Middle East, the budget deficit is bigger than John Holmes’ unit, the environment is under assault, human beings are being vociferously attacked because of a sexual orientation, culture war is declared, civil liberties erode, dissent and free speech is suppressed, ad nauseum

We are still discussing these goddamn charges about Kerry’s service. Amazing. Absolutely amazing. Remember all the over-zealous rancor concerning Bill Clinton’s “draft dodging”, “dope smoking” and “protesting” … and now this, why in the hell do we allow the debate to fall to these levels?

Especially when we consider what President Dimbulb was doing at the time? The word hypocrisy has never had a more secure home than in the Republican Party.

21. Oh I know
It’s just how come no one is writing a book on Dimson’s service? Where (besides on Liberal WebSites) can we expose the Republican elite (Lott, Cheney, Shrub, DeLay, Rumsfield, Robertson, Limbaugh, Savage, etc., etc, ad nauseum) as the draft-dodging, Chickenhawk hypocrites they are?

Why is it OUR side always playing defense. No wonder people in here are ready to take some action.

I’ve only been a Democrat 4 or 5 years and I’ve had enough of it. I can’t imagine what you people went longer time Democrats went through during the Clinton years.

25. Well maybe he did

Name: Donald "The Don" Rumsfeld
Born: 1932
Employer: The U.S. Taxpayer
Conflict Avoided: Korea
Notes: When the shooting started in Korea Rummy here was either 18, or about to turn 18. Not to worry for him, though — he spent the war at Princeton, wearing a ROTC uniform. Once the war was over he flew jets for the Navy for a few years. Defenders of Rumsfeld will say he’s no chickenhawk — he served, and it’s not his fault the war ended before he got his commission. To which others answer, “plenty of farmers and mechanics and kids just out of high school served. Anyone as full of whatever that stuffing in him is, could have tried out for a battlefield commission.”

SavageWeener is a horrible person. His vitriol and barbaric language border on lunacy. He should be committed in my view, although I am not a psychologist.

19. I could do a better job at debating these jerks. Why are democrats so
ill-informed when they go on these shows. Tucker took Kerry's quote about atrocities out of context and nobody called him on it. And Tucker repeated the RNC talking point about Kerry being absent 76% and Begala said nothing.

Democrats need to do a little homework before they appear on TV so they will help, not hurt Kerry.

28. I agree
That one lapse with the intelligence hearings was bad. However, it was great when Begala showed the official quotes about Bush's military "record" and Kerry's record.

31. If Swifties are pissy because of Kerry's protesting, they should say so
That's the real heart of the matter, as the guest reactionary let slip: they hate Kerry for other reasons, but use this to discredit the man. Duh, as if we didn't know.

The Swiftie ad doesn't dwell on Kerry's politics that irritate them so, they only hit "the record".

By the way, Thurlow's dodge of Kerry having written up the after-action report and him not even knowing he'd won a Bronze Star should be pretty damned refutable. How was he notified of his award? Did he acknowledge it in any way? Regardless, for him to not have researched his own military records as part of his calling those of another into question shows disregard for the truth and egocentric self-exaltation above the comportment of mere mortals. This type of hypocrisy is the worst: impugning a man's record and demanding the right to be above reproach in return.

The tide has essentially turned on this, and it should be pursued doggedly: it can be shown to be a calculated hit piece for ignoble motives, and as long as Junior doesn't specifically repudiate it, he's smelly dead meat. Dismissing the 527s as a concept doesn't cut the grey poupon.
